After start, repeated interruptions. First couple, understood. Next half dozen, I felt brushed aside. Kept making arrangements for them to come, no show. Work left unfinished. Day-long job took more than three weeks. Quote didn't include subcontracted electrical work. Never even told about the subcontracted work. Couple months later, a subcontractor I didn't know about, let alone ever met, is chasing me for money on a $4500 furnace job I thought I had already completely paid for. Workers left three boxes of duct pieces (elbows, long joints, etc) and a gigantic box of garbage. Never returned. Not only did they not take out the stove-sized box of garbage but they charged me for disposal of the furnace, which I had removed and disposed of myself -- after agreeing if I did it myself I wouldn't be charge. When the electrician complained to them he hadn't gotten paid, I got a phone call from *them* asking when was I going to get around to taking care of my bill with him. THAT's how I found out they'd had a contractor in my house on the job. WTF? He'd asked *them* to make sure *they* got me to pay *him*. After this, I'll be sending a letter to the BBB. What kind of contracting practice is that? I do have a nice, new furnace and did get the rebates and tax credits for it. Installation isn't pretty but will work. I'll give credit for that. But they didn't make the furnace, and they didn't create the rebates or the tax credit. Customer relations started good to get the job, then started to go downhill. I had to take off work to make arrangements to have them in. Then I'd have to call to ask why they were an hour late to hear ""Oh, I was just about to call you. We're not coming today."" It ended absolutely terribly and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. In fact, when I was asked recently I did tell my friend to make sure, whatever you do, don't call Schwalbach's. Oh, and get this -- it's attached to the ACE hardware store. Every part they use comes from that store. I didn't even get my ACE reward points for all that merchandize. I'd called ACE hq twice to get my card associated with that store. That's a separate issue. But I'm in there all the time. I use my card every time. Do you think maybe they could have at least asked, ""Do you want your reward card used for this massive purchase?"" When *I* asked about it, the clerk told me, ""You'll have to call the main company to get that purchase put on your card."" Nice. I liked the ACE back home so much that I guess maybe I expected too much from this one."

Second, they did not get the job done. They snaked twice, found roots in the drain (unsurprisingly, since this is a 100 years old house), noted that the pipe was clogged and refused to complete the job unless I forked out $250 for an additional hour of work. They suggested that I crush the pavement, replace the pipes and quoted a neat ~ $7500. I paid what seems close to double going rate. Here is what is on my invoice (and what I paid): -$195 for the snaking (on the high end, especially since the pipes were still clogged by the time they were В“finishedВ”). (Electric Rooter charged $135!!!) - Toilet removal: $155 (!): ridiculous for 5 min work. I did this myself the second time, took me 10-15 min (the other company I hired charges a more reasonable $40!). - Camera inspection: $250. I was pressed into this totally useless job which took them 5 minutes and brought zero insight. Why was Electric Rooter successful when B&E Rooter failed? Their machine seemed much newer and stronger, with a longer snake. All in all, the charge was $620 whereas the Electric Rooter charged $135 for the same job but, unlike B&E, actually DID the work. As you can see, I am a bit upset about all this. I feel like a sucker. Caveat emptor...I do NOT recommend this company.",,,,

We contacted Olson's air conditioning in July of 2012 to check our air conditioning unit and provide summer maintenance. Our air conditioner was a older unit but worked well enough and we had no previous problems with it's use. Dan Olson' AC came out and inspected the unit and stated that it was old and on it's last leg and we should consider a new unit, as the unit was older and not so energy efficient we thought it was a good idea to replace it with a newer model Ruud unit so we agreed to do so. Since the new unit was replaced Dan Olson's AC has had to come to service it no less then 14 times, and that does not include a recall on the unit where Dan Olson's AC had to change a part as per the Manufacturer that paid Dan Olson's another $500.00 plus for service. Our AC unit still is not working correctly and as per Olson's AC the problem is the drain pipe which they state they did not install so its not their problem. It's funny that we never had an issue with our old unit with draining, and couple that with the fact that Olson's AC cut our drain pipe to add a sensor that has not worked correctly and in fact the last service man used duck tape to hold it in place because it was seated wrong. Also note that I have been charged for service calls for this same problem multiple times. At this point Dan Olson's AC dose not even return phone calls so I have been forced to contact Ruud directly to see if they can help us get this unit running the right way.
