In August I got a 6 week old and I was desperately searching for someone to take him to because he was a farm dog and I knew that meant he had just about everything you could think of. He was diagnosed with ring worms, round worms, hook worms, fleas...it was awful. With all the medication they gave him and the special shampoo I thought it was going to cost a bundle, but it didn't. Their prices were very reasonable. The techs were gentle with him and very kind. Dr. Bailey is his regular vet and she is just so good with him and explains everything she's looking at while she's looking. The place is immaculate! Unfortunately, I've been in there a lot with the new puppy, but he's a people dog, so he has been easily impressed. I finally had to bring my cat in on the 13th...again...this is what led me to write this review. I find many vets handle dogs well, but seem to have a distaste for cats. A few of the things that stood out to me about the facility were things like the fact that they have separate waiting areas for the dogs and cats. My cat gets anxious if he even sees a dog, so this was nice. Then, they also have separate exam rooms for the cats, so they don't smell the dogs. Even with this, though, my cat started hyperventilating. The tech was real nice and tried to calm him down, but when she could see him getting very physically upset I figured that she would be like the rest of the vets and do the bare minimum for him. She instead took him in his carrier to see the vet. When our vet came in she informed us that the cat was too upset, but with our permission she would use a gas to make him fall asleep and still run all the tests. I was so surprised...this had never been an option for me. He's 2 years old and just now finally been checked for everything under the sun! Overall, I think the staff is very professional and it is apparent that they love their patients. The ladies in reception are very nice too. They have learned from what I can see every patient's name. It's fantastic! I don't know if I can say enough about them. I highly recommend going there. Hershey and Goober both love Dr. Bailey and she is their regular vet so she's who I can vouch for the most.",,,,

While I was waiting I continued to watch the groomer be aggressive towards this dog and no one in the salon or vet office tried stopping it. The manager acknowledged this is a new groomer and appreciated the feed back. I asked her if they video tape and she stated they did. I asked her to watch the past 20 minutes and she agreed. Hopefully she did. The veterinary care we received was OK at best. The vet was in and out in literally 2 minutes. He administered a rabies vaccine without even asking. The only redeeming thing about this clinic was Freddy- Vet Tech. He did a more thorough assessment on my pup then the vet and spent far more time. Be aware coming here, they appear nice if there ends up being no issues with their work. If you encounter an issue (cut while grooming) they assume no responsibility. I had been taking my dog there for a long time to get groomed, everything was good. The last time I took him they cut his rear end, I did not think it was a big deal so I let it pass, however upon being home for a few days, it started bleeding extensively. I reached out to them for help and they turned their back on me, they told me I was held responsible because I waited a week and need to cover full cost. They even tried to deny the cut. It would be a little more reasonable for them to try to deny fault if I demanded my money back, but I just wanted my dog to be seen. I was very impressed by the communication, compassion and knowledge of every staff and medical person I saw that day. Stacy was fun to talk to when I made the appointment two days earlier on the phone. Dr. Katrina Schmalakova, or, ""Dr. K"" was outstanding and sweet to my cat. I wanted to get a fresh start with baseline labs even before I got to the appointment. I wasn't pressured into any extras. We agreed to wait on a urine sample until we saw the blood results. Dr. K called me the next day and told me that Idgie's T4 level. She emailed me a scan of the full labs and also all the scans of paperwork from Idgie's prior vet in the South Valley. This excited me because from my own family care doctor I would have to pay $20 for the first 10 pages and a dollar a page for any additional page, but Town and Country charges nothing. I exchanged more emails with Dr. K about the labs other than the T4 and she was really thorough with answers to all my questions. She encouraged me to email her with any other questions. Since I had commented that I am trying to learn Russian, she told me to feel free to ask her questions about Russian as well! We agreed that no urine sample would be needed for now because bloodwork shows good kidney functioning. I was concerned about ALT seeming to be high according to the normal range indicated, but Dr. K was reassuring about liver enzymes. She also explained the CBCs which she said would explain symptoms of infection if there were any. Overall my senior kitty looks to be likely to live well into her 20's, which makes me happy because she is very cuddly. I enjoyed everybody at VCA, even other pets and owners, and Idgie was comfortable there and didn't seem frightened at all in the examination room. I recommend this VCA clinic for any pet owner or anybody who simply wants to be around good people.",,,,

In my experience with Central Maui Animal Clinic, I have nothing but great comments to say. They care so much and you can tell the people there LOVE what they do. In my situation, my dog was very ill, and the doctorsnurses did all they could, so we left it up to GOD to decide if it was time for her to pass. We left that night and she was in ICU and we planned to go back the next morning. I received a call that night around 9:00pm, from the doctor, letting me know she did pass and it was peaceful. The staff stayed with her, even after I went home, I know they close at 5pm. I was just amazed that they stayed with her. I didn't ask them to and they didn't ask for additional money for that service. It was just the right thing to do. I think, that says it all. Thank you."

I've never had any issues and have always gotten in quickly when needed, been able to take them after hours when I'm off work, and its conveniently located. Vets have always been very helpful and no complaints. However- we thought we'd start taking our grooming business to them as well to have it all in one place. HUGE mistake- we got a $194.00 bill for grooming 2 Yorkies- one is 8 pounds, one is 12 pounds. $194!!!!!!! When I looked at the bill, they gave our dogs each a flu shot that we did not ask for - and each flu shot was $40. My husband had dropped the dogs off that morning and was asked if we wanted to do it- and when he asked why they would need one- the groomer responded ""we will take care of it"" - no response to his question- NO approval from my husband. If he had been told that it was $40 apiece for a flu shot then we would have taken our dogs back to our old grooming place that doesn't require that. That isn't the worst of it- when I called to talk to the staff about it- the receptionist said my husband had consented to it, which he clearly did not. At that point, I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was not one available and that they'd take down my number. I also shared that if we are going to get charged $80 unexpectedly, we will no longer take our dogs there- and the receptionist happily replied ""Okay!""- which is a very disrespectful response to someone who has given you five years of business. This was all on Tuesday. I've called every day since asking to speak to a manager- no one has been able to talk to me- yesterday I was told I'd get another call back- they took down my number, and still no response. Its really sad that they would treat someone who has been a loyal customer to them for so long this way. Needless to say I'll cut my losses and consider the $80 a bonus as to what I will save elsewhere.","Kelsey M.",05/16/2014,five,"This vet has been more than helpful with my cat that has been really sick. I even got a call from the veterinarian a week after her surgery to make sure she was doing okay! Debbie is always a friendly face to see in the front of the office. The office makes you feel and home and at ease even when my cat is being a handful. I suggest this clinic to anyone and trust them completely with my animals!"
