This is self-serve and the area WASN'T kept clean as I watched the drunk customers scatter the condiments all over the serving table. As for atmosphere? The music system was turned up too loud, while the television sets over the bar showed things like NASCAR and other sporting events without closed-captioning. The male bartender must have been drinking himself as he was extremely rude to more than one person trying to get a """"cocktail."""" This store is located in an extremely bad strip mall which has a lot of vacant closed-up businesses such as Peter Piper Pizza (next door). The customers are the kind of people you would expect to find lurking in dark alleys. I had one glass of draft beer and left. Oh, I almost forgot. This bar SMELLED BAD. I mean REALLY BAD. Cigarette smoke and BODY ODOR in the air . It's probably a good place to hang out in if you really hate yourself."

It was over flowing with seafood and just the right amount of kick to it. We also ordered the crab cakes which was the best I've tasted in a long time in brigantine. The hostess told us that the owner was also a boat captain and catches some of the tuna and mahi mahi himself! you can't get any fresher that. Entrees ranged from $13-$25 (exluding lobster dinners and dishes which range from $30-$45) What also was nice is that it is attached to a package good store on the other side (where the pub bar is) so if you would like a bottle of wine with your dinner you only have to pay the shelf price for it, unlike most restaurants where they charge you $25 for a $10 bottle. We learned that if you see a fish dish on the special board, it was more than likely caught that day by the owner!! Can't get any fresher than that. We will be stopping by here every time we come down the shore from now on!! We also grabed a menu when we left and realized that they also are open for breakfast. I used to work here, so I am a little baised when I say that. I am talking about being baised when it comes to the food and drink. The staff, is just simply the best part of the pub. The logo, the history, and all else enrichs what a customer's experience is at Deschutes, but the staff IS the experience (if you take a seat at the bar, you'll see what I mean). The brewmasters live and breathe the beer. Making a fine crafted, great tasting beer isn't rocket science... it's harder. ask any knowledgable beer connoisseur (if you can find one. I am talking about what stage of growth and season the hop was harversted, to the level of heat used to kiln the ingredients. The lively crew in the kitchen is a skilled ensemble of savvy artists (Try anything on the specials menu to confirm that statement). For the size of the kitchen, food is prepared and sent out in a miraculous amount of time. Old pub favorites like the Spicy Mac and Garlic Burgers are always a good stand-by, safe and comforting to those who enjoy announcing that they'll """"have the usual."""" but there is such a selection of new and diverse items on the menu everyday, that even the pickiest eater should venture out and enjoy. In short, if you want a really good experience... go to the pub and order a daily special and recommended beer pairing. If you want a great experience, go down, grab a seat at the L-bar and strike up a conversaiton with the door host. Ask the bar tender about the Yankies. Ask anyone about Mt. Bachelor.
