Good ""Paw-side manner"": Having taken my dog to an emergency clinic, for an infected hot spot on a 3 day weekend, they had to sedate her (big $) to shave and treat it. I found another spot the next day and took her here. They had absolutely no problem taking her in back and getting her cleaned up and said she had been perfectly calm and cooperative. I frequently get Dr. Greenwald. My dog has always been very skittish around men but the dog is a complete baby around him. It sounds kind of silly that he talks to her like a 1 year old child but I can't argue with his results. My dog is always happy to go to the vet. 2. Facilities: I worked out of a veterinary clinic when I was In the army. When I started bring my dog here they gave me a tour of the whole place. The facilities are totally up to date, although the OR looks a bit cramped. Every thing is clean and well maintained. 3. Getting Appts: Although they don't have emergency hours, I've never failed to get in within a few hours when I needed a same day appointment. One time when I screwed up my calendar and came in a day early, they worked me in anyhow. Cons: Prices: I felt they were on the high side when I had my dog spayed, although it did include bells and whistles like laser therapy to speed healing. An expensive prescription medication she takes everyday is actually a bit cheaper directly from them than over the web, but heartworm medication was double what it costs on the web. Example bill for an annual exam, lepto vac, lyme vac, blood draw and heartworm/tick test came to $217. Office staff: I will join the rest of the reviews in saying that ""some"" don't go out of there way to seem friendly. I phoned an order in that they got wrong and there wasn't the slightest apology. As it turns out, they do not administer a sedative before injecting the lethal medication that stops the heart. Because Pancho was not sedated first, he had a TERRIBLE reaction to the lethal injection, and let out 4 bloodcurdling screams before his heart stopped. While he was screaming, he stretched his legs long and tight. For the next minute or more after his heart stopped, he made these awful sounds that the vet said was air being emitted from this diaphragm. That made me scream when it first happened, because I thought he was still alive. The whole experience was beyond traumatic. Poor Pancho, who had experienced a serious illness for the last three years, wasn't even able to die in peace because the Animal Hospital of Cotati couldn't be bothered with giving a sedative first. They assured me that it is very rare of a dog to experience this reaction, but I can assure you, if it has happened even once before it happened to Pancho, they should have changed their procedure for euthanizing animals. The vet told me that Pancho's screams were from a kind of disorientation rather than pain, but whether the screams were from pain or fear, it was an awful, awful way to die. Now I have to live with the memory of that for the rest of my life. I will never use their services again.",,,,

And after a check up with me in the room they felt there was no reason for an ex-ray. They gave my little guy a urinalysis test which was $15 dollars and which found out what was wrong with him something had stressed him out and he had kidney problems assured me it was not serious gave me some medicine which was $11 dollars a good deal below the cost I was told others were charging. They asked me if I needed to apply for a interest free payment program that was available or not. The whole time the staff was warm and caring. The office was clean the house cat was adorable and the house dog gave me a good deal of attention. I was told to either call or come in if anything seemed wrong and they would check him out right away. This is how it is supposed to be Fast on time appointments even on day of call good service by a caring and knowledgeable staff. From now on I will trust these people with all my pet needs and will recommend them to others needing a good fair and caring vet for their furry friends they also have a low cost spay and neuter clinic which is in short supply around here. Give them a call and check them out. The only bad thing was that the vet tech tried to give me a speech about my dog because a ladies small dog snapped on my dog( my dog did nothing before or after the little dog went crazy.) while I was at the front desk. The lady was sitting right in front of the counter/door. I proceed to tell him my dog is not aggressive and he needed to tell the lady what he was telling me because she had the aggressive dog and shouldn't be sitting where she sat if she couldn't control her dog. He told me he was sorry and that it was only because if my dog would have done something he would have hurt the little dog because I have a big dog. I told him if my dog is being attacked and protects his self that is not his fault. Other then that they are always great.",,,,
