I had state farm for 18 from the age of 15 to 33. The price went up yearly instead of down even after I turned 33 and I got married. My rate jumped up by over $100 dollars a month plus. If I added my wife it was to go up $300. Mind you this was a non sports, very dependable, and safe car. I went to nationwide and the price dropped by $175 a month and I added my wife to the plan too so it was no longer just me on the new plan. If it had just been me my rate would have been $250 cheaper and I have better coverage much better like twice as much for nearly half as much and they file the claim in 30 minutes,

EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED!!! To whom it may concern: I am a State Farm customer and I am currently trying to resolve an auto collision claim that has been open since the accident date of 9/8/2014. Over the past three months I have made numerous contacts by phone with Jane Coleman, the State Farm representative handling the claim. I was not at fault nor was I cited in the car wreck that involved four different cars. I was stopped at a red light when a series of events triggered a van to skid through an intersection into an SUV pushing the SUV into the front driver side of my vehicle. The gross damage assessment total cost to my car is $2.829.82. I was initially informed of the options for repairing the car: paying the $1,000 deductible out of my pocket and receiving a check for $1,829.82. or waiting in pursuit of an underinsured claim to pay for the cost of the damage repairs. Due to a financial hardship at this time, we are unable to pay the deductible of $1,000. Two weeks ago the main driver cited in the collision went to traffic court with an attorney and had the citation thrown out. Ms. Coleman asked me if I went to the court, and I replied that I did not even know that there was a court date for the driver who was initially cited as causing the accident. We were not informed of the necessity of being vigilant for a chance to participate in such a course of action. Had we been given fair warning to be on the lookout for a pending court proceeding requiring witnesses to avoid a default decision, we would have gladly gone to traffic court to participate in the process. The actual owner of the car is my brother C.L., and he and I both feel that we have had to wait for an unusually long period of time for the resolution of this claim. Because I am 100% not liable for the collision, itВ’s almost though we are being discriminated against or even punished because we are financially unable pay the $1,000 deductible at this time in order to repair the car. My brother and I feel that we are in an unjust situation that is not completely fair considering that the car accident was not our fault. The car has a damaged hard plastic shell that hangs down from the underside of the vehicle that makes direct contact with the ground. We crease and fold it up out of harmВ’s way the best that we can, however, we are continually concerned about the plastic forming friction sparks from ground contact while the car is moving. The driverВ’s headlight is smashed completely out greatly diminishing the night driving field and range of vision. There is also the presence of some intermittent fluid leakage from some yet to be determined location under the hood. In addition, everything under the hood has shifted out of alignment to the left, which does not seem conducive to an optimal safe driving experience. Would we benefit from taking a more aggressive approach such as hiring an attorney to speed up the process of resolving the claim? I am posing this as a question because I am humble and not an expert in this field with a specialized body of knowledge. If we used an attorney, would we take action against the other insurance companies or would we take action against State Farm? We are not angry, we just simply want to get our car repaired and honestly feel like we have waited long enough for this to happen. Thank You for your time, J.L.
