Consulted by clients that include small and medium size companies, professionals, business people and individuals from all walks of life, the DUBÉ LATREILLE law firm meets the requirements of those seeking the services of a boutique firm specialized in litigation and of lawyers concerned with providing the best of personalized support and counsel. The lawyers at DUBÉ LATREILLE distinguish themselves by the way they skillfully and promptly manage their cases in all discretion and confidentiality. This is one of the reasons why the services of DUBÉ LATREILLE are often sought after by much larger law firms in the Montreal area and elsewhere in cases where a situation of conflict of interests arises. DUBÉ LATREILLE is also these firm's first choice when it comes to referring clients seeking legal advice in areas of law not serviced by those firms such as professional and civil liability, malpractice, commercial litigation, claims for transgression of protected rights under the Charters, estate management disputes, family law, etc. Efficient and resolute in court, the lawyers at DUBÉ LATREILLE will however not hesitate, when it is in the best interest of their clients to act as such, to resort to alternative solutions for resolving legal disputes, such as mediation and settlement conferences. Lawyer.com Member Questionnaire Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference. There was a recent case involving members of the same family fighting over the execution of the will of the deceased that contradicted what had been agreed upon verbally between the parties. Our clients, the defendant, were considerably distraught and stressed with the nature of the dispute. They became so discouraged by the aggressiveness and the means of the other party that they were ready to abandon their rights and the house they had purchased and renovated. We managed to find with them a strategy to help them build their defense, stay the course, and go to trial. Eventually, this yielded a judgment where Plaintiff’s claims for the most part were dismissed. This allowed our clients to keep their dignity and recover a part of what was rightfully theirs. How did you build a successful practice? Our successful practice was built on 3 things: hard work, team work, and core values such as being truthful, diligent, integrity and loyalty. What should clients look for in a lawyer? Clients should look for a lawyer that will listen to their preoccupations and to what really matters to them, in order to carefully target the objective. Second, that lawyer must be able to quickly develop a relationship with the clients based on mutual trust. Third, the values upheld by this lawyer must be such that the clients will be confident that the choices, strategies, and recommendations made by said lawyer will seek the clients’ best interest. How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases? It is very important for any lawyer to know and understand the world he lives in if he is to deliver useful and timely legal services to his clients. The laws and regulations, the customs, and the culture of a society must be taken into consideration by the lawyer in any legal matter if successful results are to be expected. What information can you provide in a free phone consultation? Essentially, whether we can provide the legal services that are required, and, generally, what legal options ought to be considered following the summary of the situation provided by the client. What information do you need in a free phone consultation? A brief overview of the facts, the parties involved, the timeline, and whether there is any emergency (prescription, etc.) to consider. What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community? I am honest, straightforward, diligent, pugnacious, and professional. What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? Making a positive difference in people’s lives and obtaining their recognition for the quality of our work. What are your other interests in addition to law? National and international politics; History; Arts in general, poetry, and physical fitness. Are you involved in your community? I serve my country in the Canadian Army Reserves. I help raise funds for military families ressource centers and veterans.
