ABOUT RIVER OAKS

Owned and operated by American Addiction Centers (AAC), River Oaks provides holistic, evidence-based treatment to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Set just outside Tampa, Fla., the rehab center supports spiritual, physical, and psychological recovery through AAC’s in-house-developed curriculum, physical activity, meditation, and rest. Medically monitored detoxification is available on-site along with three levels of residential and outpatient care.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Following a physical, psychological, and social assessment, each client begins a plan of treatment which is adjusted as necessary throughout the rehabilitative process to provide the best care. The facility’s website emphasizes the goal of empowering clients in their recovery.

If detox is necessary the five- to seven-day drug-specific, medically monitored process is provided in a dedicated section of the residential facilities. During the withdrawal process, therapists also work with clients to address related mood and behavioral health concerns.

The length of stay for residential treatment varies, but 90 days is the typical recommendation. All programs incorporate 12-step concepts with the “Embracing Change: Recovery for Life” workbook-based curriculum, which features an array of information about addiction, reflection exercises, and therapeutic practices. Depending on clinicians’ recommendations, clients may participate in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, or trauma-informed modalities such as eye movement desensitization reprocessing and Seeking Safety. Experiential therapies offered include equine, art and music.

In addition to residential care, a partial hospitalization or day program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP) are available. The PHP meets for six to eight hours a day most days of the week and prioritizes helping clients to transition back to life outside of rehab, through sober recreation and building support systems. Similarly, IOP clients meet three to seven days each week, but for just three hour spans. River Oaks staff members also work with each client to develop aftercare plans and can provide referrals to sober living services.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The treatment team includes physicians, nurses, master’s level therapists, licensed social workers, and behavioral health technicians, according to job descriptions accessible through the facility’s website.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

The River Oaks campus is described on its website as retreat-like. Photographs feature modern, comfortably furnished meeting and bedrooms, a beautiful lawn and gardens with multiple outdoor seating areas, and a basketball court. The staff includes a personal trainer and professional chef.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Of sixteen alumni reviews submitted to Rehabs.com at the time of this writing, 10 were positive and six were negative.

One of the most frequently referenced points in both sets of reviews is the relative newness of the facility. In a representative comment regarding disorganization, alum T.T. wrote: “This is a new facility. They have not worked out the kinks. There is not enough staff.” Angela wrote that the program’s therapy workbooks were not available during her first two weeks in treatment. On the other hand, Jim acknowledged the facility’s understaffing but characterized employees as dedicated and the program as life-saving.

About half the favorable reviews represented the staff as caring and accommodations as high quality. However, three critical reviewers reported issues with cleanliness and another three commented that their experience did not match what they expected from marketing materials. Two also expressed frustration with discharge procedures

Half a dozen former clients rated the effectiveness of treatment received four or five stars out of five. Two alumni complained of not enough one-on-one access to their therapists.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

All five reviews submitted to Rehabs.com by loved ones were negative. Feedback was in line with alumni comments regarding misleading marketing, overwhelmed staff members, inadequate treatment for co-occurring conditions, and unresponsiveness.

FINANCING

According to the facility’s website, treatment is covered by many commercial insurance plans and staff members are available to assist clients in verifying benefits. Private pay and payment plans can be arranged. Graduates can also take advantage of AAC’s Brand Promise, which states that individuals who experience relapse after successfully completing a 90-day treatment program may be eligible for an additional 30 days of treatment free of charge.

Sunspire Health Hyde Park is a private, residential treatment facility specifically designed to meet the needs of women with substance abuse, co-occurring mental health disorders, body image and food issues, and trauma. Our goal is to provide a homelike setting where women can overcome their addictions and gain a new sense of control over their lives. Our evidence-based medical and behavioral treatment programs teach women to free themselves from the thoughts, actions and self-sabotaging behaviors that bring them to Hyde Park. We teach critical self-care skills to encourage women's independence and continued success once they embark upon their new life in recovery. Hyde Park is focused on encouraging female empowerment and support to build lasting systems of support through the bonds that happen during treatment.

Sunspire Health is a network of addiction treatment facilities with centers in California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Oregon, South Carolina, and Texas. The Hyde Park facility is located on a quiet, palm-tree-lined street a block from Hillsborough Bay in Tampa, midway down Florida’s Gulf Coast. The center offers detox plus residential and outpatient treatment for women who are struggling with substance abuse, process disorders, and trauma. The facility offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Sunspire Health facilities view addiction as a chronic disease, and use evidence-based methods supplemented by holistic therapies to help clients achieve abstinence from drugs and alcohol. Specifically, Hyde Park often uses eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Individual, group, and family therapy are used alongside 12-step groups, anger management, Imago therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

The center provides weekly psychodrama sessions and relapse prevention training. Holistic options include meditation and mindfulness, yoga, spiritual support, sleep hygiene, art therapies, physical exercise, adventure-based therapy, and community activities.

In addition to a residential program, the center offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). The partial hospitalization program (PHP) involves attendance five to seven days per week, for six to eight hours per day, while the intensive outpatient program (IOP) meets three to five times per week for three to four hours per day.

The team includes mental health counselors, certified addiction professionals, and a licensed care social worker. The two individuals polled by Rehabs.com to date rated the staff’s level of training and experience three and five out of five stars.

Hyde Park accommodates up to 20 women at a time. Pictures published on the facility’s website show an attractive Victorian home with comfy common areas. The six individuals polled by Rehabs.com to date gave the center an average rating of 3.67 stars for its accommodations, and all three of the individuals polled on the center’s cleanliness gave it four or five stars.

Of the three alumni reviews submitted to Rehabs.com to date, two were positive and one was mixed. One alum rated Hyde Park four and five out of five stars in fifteen different metrics, rating it five stars in counseling options, family participation, and treatment of co-occurring disorders.

All three reviewers spoke very highly of the center’s counselors and therapists. Alum K.A.P. wrote: \"Supportive staff and lots of information. The therapists are all excellent,\" and M.S. added: “They are wonderful and truly invested in their clients and the nutritionist is very knowledgeable and goes the extra mile for eating disorder clients”. However, M.S. in contrast wrote: “This company hires techs without the appropriate credentials to deal with this population.”

On Google, one reviewer left a perfect five-star review of Hyde Park,^[1] and on Facebook one reviewer rated it four out of five stars.^[2] Google reviewer Cynthia, despite leaving treatment early due to illness, wrote: \"My family therapist and my regular therapist were wonderful. The groups, well if you go there you'd better be prepared to work, as they are a challenge. I would recommend this facility to everyone.\"

Of the three reviews by loved ones submitted to Rehabs.com to date, one was mostly positive, one mixed, and one negative. The single loved one polled on Hyde Park's offerings in a variety of treatment metrics was the mixed reviewer, who rated the center four out of five stars for its overall effectiveness, family program, and counseling options but two stars for its holistic offerings and treatment for co-occurring disorders. Despite the positive ratings, they did criticize activities planned for clients, writing: “they allow clients to go to the store to make purchases I have never heard of a facility that allows clients to go out shopping. I feel this is counter intuitive.”

In other reviews, loved one J.K.W. wrote: “Treatment is only effective if the person receiving it is willing and grateful for the chance to start their recovery. NA and AA is part of our lives,” indicating that treatment was successful for their loved one. But loved one F.S. wrote: “DO NOT SEND YOUR DAUGHTER HERE! They do not care for their patients as their website states, if your daughter has a dual diagnosis - they will ship her to a local hospital- and then state they can't treat her and lie about contacting the hospital!!”

On Indeed, fifteen current and former employees rated Sunspire Health as a whole an average 3.6 out of five stars. In general, employees criticized the stressful environment but felt the work was still rewarding at Sunspire Health. A former behavioral health technician wrote: \" Working in the service industry lacks substance for me now. Being able to help clients when they are at such a crucial chapter in their life is rewarding in itself. Unfortunately sometimes you are asked to compromise your values.\"

Hyde Park accepts insurance and is in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Multiplan, Anthem, PHCS, and Value Options. Financial assistance is also available, in the form of a loan through American Healthcare Lending.

Located in warm, sunny Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Sunspire Health Recovery Road offers residential programs for adult men struggling with substance abuse and gambling addictions. The length of stay for most residential programs is 30 days, but some clients stay up to 90 days. Medical detox is not available on-site, but the facility works closely with local detox centers to coordinate smooth transitions from external detox into residential treatment.

Treatment plans include one-on-one counseling, group and family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and motivational interviewing (MI). Clients with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, are treated with medications, talk therapy, or both.

Recovery Road is equipped to help residents build a spiritual or religious component into their treatment, though this choice is left entirely to the individual. Educational workshops on relapse prevention and anger management are offered, as well as introductions to 12-step groups. Clients may also participate in holistic therapies, including yoga, meditation, acupuncture, and massage.

After completion of residential treatment, clients can pursue the intensive outpatient program or partial hospitalization program, both of which continue to offer individual and group therapy. Aftercare provisions take the form of an active alumni network with regular meetings.

The facility employs a board-certified psychiatrist and a licensed psychologist. There’s also a team of nurses and a clinical staff comprised of licensed clinical social workers, licensed therapists, and a trauma specialist. A holistic team includes a nutritionist and a spiritual counselor.

Recovery Road’s environment admits only 30 clients at a time. Residents live in simply furnished apartments (private rooms are available) in colorful, single story buildings surrounded by palm trees. Residents may be transported to a nearby gym several times a week.

Alumni reviews of Recovery Road are mixed, but skew heavily positive. Among negative comments, alumni mentioned lack of one-on-one time, low affordability, and minimal or ineffective aftercare options; however, other reviewers such as Larry cited that although they went through treatment, they “slipped up after returning home and avoiding aftercare recommendations. When I realized I needed help I knew the only place I wanted to go was right back to Recovery Road, They are like family to me and welcomed me back without judgement.” J.M. noted that regarding aftercare, “success is mostly determined by a patients willingness to maintain the tools and utilize the resources set up after discharge.” In fact, alum SEF noted that “i have learned more here in this month then i have learned in any of my previous 17 other treatment centers.”

Most alumni were enthusiastic about the care received at Sunspire Health Recovery Road, describing “top notch care,” praiseworthy staff, relationships developed with other clients, and a clean environment.

On Facebook, the mix of feedback reflected those on Rehabs.com, with an average rating of 4.6 out of five stars based on 19 reviews to date.^{^[1]}

Feedback from loved ones is more positive. An anonymous Rehabs.com reviewer gave the facility high marks for treatment effectiveness, writing: “This is a good rehab center, it cater well for the patients.” On Facebook, five-star reviewer Jamie noted: “Couldn't ask for a better more helpful place for the addict and their family member!”

Yet K.Y., whose husband attended Recovery Road, described the program as “a waste of time.” She said: “We were placed here without knowing any real details. He needed immediate help and thought this was going to offer it to him. Sure, while he was there, with the therapy and trips to the beach but all of that didn't help him when he got out into the real world.”

Sunspire Health Recovery Road accepts most private insurance and offers financing to clients who qualify.

Located minutes from the beach on the outskirts of Jacksonville, Fla., Beaches Recovery offers residential, intensive outpatient (IOP), and partial hospitalization (PHP) programs for adults seeking treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Specialized programs are available for specific substances, first responders, gender-specific groups, and executives. Medical detox is not available on-site, but the facility offers assistance through nearby detoxification centers.

Treatment at Beaches Recovery begins with an assessment over the phone or in person at the facility’s 24-hour intake center. Clients are assessed to identify their specific needs and to individualize treatment. Clients can also be referred by family members and other professionals. Clients must be adults (18+) and be physically capable of participating in treatment options. Interventions can be arranged as well to facilitate the start of treatment.

This facility uses a variety of evidence-based and holistic treatment modalities, and stresses that each treatment plan is highly individualized. Clients participate in therapy practices including 12-steps work. However, a non-12-steps approach is available as well. These traditional therapies are combined with holistic practices involving outdoor activity, community involvement, and physical activity to promote a full-body rehabilitation experience.

Treatment is gender-specific, and all programs include individual and group therapy, including evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). There’s also a family program, 12-step tracks, and holistic offerings such as equine therapy, drama/music therapy, as well as boating, bowling, and hiking therapy. The women’s program has a special focus on trauma, grief, sexual abuse, and body image issues. There are also specialized, discreet programs for first responders and executives.

Aside from the gender-specific options, specialized programs are available for target groups. First Responders and Executives are able to seek discrete and specialized services to facilitate a more effective recovery. These programs have limited numbers of participants, and focus on keeping participation confidential so that clients will not experience issues in their professional and personal lives.

Beaches Recovery also offers a Fresh Start DUI Program to help clients with legal issues navigate the rehab process and meet their legal requirements. Family participation is encouraged throughout treatment, and services are available to assist families.

The treatment team at Beaches Recovery consists of a clinical director, licensed marriage and family therapists, and licensed mental health counselors, one of whom is also a certified sexual addiction therapist. The facility is accredited by the Joint Commission.

Beaches Recovery is a 90-bed facility where clients share rooms, although some private rooms are available based on the program and availability. The facility has an open view of the ocean which is nearby. . Photos published on the facility’s website show homey décor, an outdoor pool, a kitchen, private bathrooms, and the facility reports that there’s access to outdoor training space. A Chef is on staff and dietary preferences can be accommodated. Separate living spaces are available for different groups although it is not clear how the space is divided amongst the different programs.

On Google, alum Irene claimed that \"There are even a yoga, art and equine therapies patients can elect to be included in. Some of the adjunct fun activities include Top Golf, zip lining, canoeing, the list goes on. As intensive as this program is, it is also fun.”^[1]

Rehabs.com has received over two dozen reviews from alumni at the time of this writing, most of which are positive.

The seven alumni polled on a range of 15 metrics gave high ratings, with averages of between 4.7 and 4.9 out of five stars for all metrics evaluated including exercise and leisure provisions, holistic treatment offerings, the connectivity to regular life and visitor policy during treatment, the level of family participation in treatment, available counseling options, and the staff's level of training and experience. In a representative review, alum S.A. wrote: “The staff is great, the facilities and houses are very nice and I have been sober ever since and my life has never been better.” Feeling welcomed and well cared for by the staff was another recurring strength listed by reviewers.

Yet several called out perceived faults with the staff and their level of professionalism and care. Alum M.H. indicated the “pictures are deceiving,” and Liam found treatment to be “very punishment focused.” Additionally, John cited a lack of communication, and P.K. complained that there were frequent tests for which the results were left unread. Alum M.J. noted that the facility “is a scam!!”

In a representative review, alum Irene mentioned the \"beautiful beach setting\" and \"immaculate new condos.\" Describing her weekly routine and the variety of holistic offerings, she wrote: “I was assigned a weekly one on one therapy session alongside a small 5 day a week morning therapy group. There is a very good balance of specialized therapy treatment time and fun activities designed specifically to experience sober living fun.\"

On its official Facebook page, which the facility can manage, Beaches Recovery received 4.8 out of five stars from 17 reviews. ^[2] Sixteen of the reviews were five out of five stars. The single one out of five star review was written by a parent who’s son overdosed at the facility. In a representative review, alum Brittany wrote: “The staff is friendly, clients have the opportunity to do many team building outings such as volleyball, surfing,equine therapy, ropes course, and so much more. They teach you the coping skills that we all need to be successful in our sobriety.”

Rehabs.com has received feedback from five loved ones to date whose ratings for treatment effectiveness average 3.2 out of five stars.

Affordability received an average of four out of five stars. “Very holistic. It was very nice.. but it was a bit pricey,” one loved one wrote. Also, a positive review from J.W. reported that “The staff was so helpful and communication was awesome.” The level of staff experience received an average of five out of five stars.

Several loved ones had less positive experiences to report. Angela, the wife of a former client, cited a lack of supervision, and Christopher called the place unprofessional based on his wife’s experience.

At the time of this writing, four staff members have submitted feedback about Beaches Recovery to Rehabs.com. Their feedback was mixed.

Although all staff members awarded the facility five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, accommodations, and meals, one of the staff members was less impressed. They offered only two out of five stars for holistic options, family participation, cost worthiness, and the staff’s level of training and experience, citing poor client supervision and communication.

Despite this criticism, staff members seemed to enjoy their work. Staff member D.M. wrote: “Employees and clients are treated like family and we are one large community.”

Beaches Recovery accepts most private insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, and BlueCross. The facility’s website features an online insurance verification form.

Townsend offers a spectrum of innovative rehabilitation services, throughout eight addiction facilities located across South Louisiana, based on the needs of each patient. Patients are treated with encouragement and respect by blending high quality addiction therapy with compassionate counseling in a safe recovery environment. The core philosophy at Townsend is that addiction is a chronic brain disease that can be managed or put in “remission.” Using The Townsend Way their team strives to help both patients and loved ones heal from their addictions and enjoy an improved quality of life. Once the patient’s acute medical condition has stabilized, The Townsend Way offers a unique, effective, and long-term plan to keep his or her addiction in remission.

Townsend treatment offers an intensive outpatient therapy (IOP) phase which varies in length according to the patient’s needs. After completing this IOP phase, Townsend provides former patients with continuing care via enrollment in their optional chronic disease management plan to keep their disease in remission.

Townsend of Baton Rouge provides outpatient-based treatment programs for individuals struggling with substance abuse or other addictive behaviors, such as compulsive sex, overeating, and gambling. One of nine facilities of the Louisiana-based Townsend network, the Baton Rouge location also offers outpatient medical stabilization (detoxification) services.

According to Townsend’s website, the center’s approach to treatment is designed to address the underlying causes of addiction, namely the effect that substances have on the reward centers of the brain. Before beginning treatment, clients take a substance abuse assessment to assist clinicians in forming an individualized plan of care.

The Baton Rouge facility operates an intensive outpatient program (IOP), which offers flexible day and evening sessions. Clients participate in individual therapy, group therapy sessions, and educational classes on substance abuse. Treatment modalities include motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy.

Medication-assisted therapy (MAT) (e.g., Suboxone) may be recommended for individuals recovering from opioid dependency. Unique to Townsend’s model of treatment, the program offers genetic testing, which may help indicate specific biological factors contributing to addictive behavior.

Family participation in treatment is highly recommended, and family night is held weekly. If applicable, Townsend of Baton Rouge also offers ongoing chronic disease management and support.

The center’s website states that under the direction of a clinical director, Townsend of Baton Rouge employs a team of psychiatrists, licensed professional counselors, case managers, and phlebotomists for medical testing.

The alum polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing offered mixed feedback about the experience at Townsend of Baton Rouge. This anonymous former client made harshly critical comments about the doctor who rendered care. However, they also wrote: “I can't say enough about how I much I loved my counselors and overall the whole staff. Stay away from the doctor, she is a train wreck.”

On Google, Townsend of Baton Rouge received an average of 3.5 out of five stars based on four reviews to date.^[1] Feedback was uneven – two reviews were one and three stars and the other two reviews were perfect five stars. Mike, the one star reviewer, complained about lack of caring and attention and over concern with money: “Self, money hungry people that do not care about the patient.” Three-star reviewer Michael echoed that sentiment: “They treat you with little respect” and added: “However, the upper management and doctors are good the counselors and teachers could use replacement. You get what you get. But not what they charge for.” The five-star reviewers did not leave any comments.

The loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided positive feedback for Townsend of Baton Rouge. They awarded four out of five stars for treatment effectiveness and accommodations/amenities. They also offered both four and five stars for a number of other metrics, including counseling options, staff experience and training, family participation, visitor policy, cleanliness, affordability, and the likelihood of recommending the facility to others. This loved one wrote: “Really caring about the people that are treating.” Although they mentioned the food was not great,they noted: “The staff is very professional. It's always clean.”

According to the center’s website, Townsend of Baton Rouge has contracts with many insurance and managed care providers, such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, to cover the cost of treatment. Patients are responsible for co-payments and deductibles, and financing may be available to qualified clients.

Located in a busy suburban neighborhood seven miles from the beach in Hollywood, South Florida, United Recovery Project offers residential and outpatient treatment for individuals struggling with substance abuse issues and dual diagnosis.

After a pre-assessment evaluation to determine that a new client is a good fit, treatment begins with a full assessment carried out by the clinical director or a primary therapist, which is used to put together an individualized treatment plan and assign a primary therapist.

The residential program lasts 30 to 45 days, though some clients stay for up to 60 days, if recommended by the treatment team. Following residential treatment, the center will provide referrals to local sober living facilities. The center also offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that involves nine hours per week of group counseling, plus one hour a week of individual counseling.

Treatment programs are built around individual and group therapy, and the center also emphasizes meditation, with sessions every morning and a 10-minute centering meditation at the beginning of every group therapy session. Groups include The Heroic Journey, which encourages clients to claim their own narratives in their addiction stories; relapse prevention group; art and creative groups; trauma group; and groups on families of choice and families of origin.

All clients leave with a complete aftercare plan that includes links to resources in their home community.

The clinical director is a master’s level therapist, and many staff members are in recovery themselves.The 66 alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date on the staff’s level of training and experience gave it an average rating of 4.8 out of five stars.

The treatment facility is a clean and modern if somewhat clinical building. According to United Recovery Project’s website, extracurricular activities include beach and bowling trips, chiropractor sessions, equine therapy, fishing, and laser tag. The vast majority of individuals polled by Rehabs.com gave the accommodations ratings of four or five out of five stars.

Reviews from alumni are plentiful and positive. When asked if they would recommend United Recovery Project, the 66 alumni surveyed by Rehabs.com gave an average rating of 4.8 out of five stars. The individuals polled on the facility’s offerings in a variety of treatment metrics gave it average ratings of 4.69 stars for its counseling options, 4.8 for its exercise/leisure options, 4.89 stars for its family programming, and 4.77 stars for its holistic offerings. The reviewers repeatedly praised the center’s staff, who were described as very caring and understanding; several reviewers were also glad that many staff were in recovery themselves. “Thank you all for your love and support. I've been struggling forever and thought there was never going to be a way out. Thank you for loving me before I loved myself,” J.C. wrote in a representative review.

However, not all reviews were positive. A.K. told Rehabs.com that they felt the center did the more harm than good. “My social worker was the epitome of unprofessionalism and my psychiatrist harshly insisted that i take arbitrary medications without any explanation as to their effects… The only thing they care about is their financial bottom line,” they wrote.

Reviews from loved ones have all been very positive. All seven said they would recommend the facility to others.

The positive reviewers echoed alumni by praising the center’s staff, and Bryan added: “Every question I had was answered right away, I was always updated on how they were doing and what I could do to help and understand their treatment process.”

Both of the staffers polled by Rehabs.com to date gave very positive feedback. “Here at URP our number one concern is showing our clients love as they never felt loved before while in active addiction,” Justin wrote in a representative review.

According to the facility’s website, most insurances are accepted. The 75 individuals polled by Rehabs.com to date on the center’s affordability gave it an average of 4.86 out of five stars.

Before enrolling into a treatment program, clients undergo an initial assessment to determine an appropriate level of care and help clinicians develop an individualized plan of care. Along with counseling and 12-step facilitation, Serenity Light Recovery integrates psychoeducational workshops, brain mapping and biofeedback sessions, and a Trigger Awareness Program to help prevent relapse. In addition, the facility offers a faith-based track, which incorporates Christian-based principles into 12-Step, as well as Bible study sessions into overall programming, while the specialized veterans program addresses issues of common among veterans, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

To treat co-occurring mental health disorders, the facility provides a range of treatments, such as pharmacological intervention, medication management, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) sessions for trauma. Along with traditional treatment methods, Serenity Light Recovery incorporates a range of holistic treatments, including yoga (in group or individual settings), mindful meditation, therapeutic massages, and personal training sessions.

Once a client completes residential care, the facility may encourage residents to transition into the facility’s intensive outpatient program. IOP involves four treatment sessions per week and typically lasts eight weeks. The center also offers a year of aftercare recovery coaching to alumni who graduate from residential treatment.

Serenity Light Recovery employs a multidisciplinary team comprised of a physician, licensed chemical dependency counselors, nurses, a minister, yoga instructor, and support staff.

Serenity Light Recovery is a Southern-style mansion located on 10 acres of grounds, complete with a pond, gazebos, and plenty of green space. The facility features a fitness room,a game room, art studio, yoga studio, and well-furnished communal areas. The facility’s detox unit offers 10 beds, while the residential wing can accommodate 52 clients. The facility features eight private suites, which are service dog-friendly, and feature private patios and secure entry, while shared rooms offer either bunk beds or full-sized beds.

While Rehabs.com has yet to receive alumni feedback to date, secondary sources revealed positive opinions of the facility. On its Facebook page, which the facility can manage, 33 individuals gave the facility a near-perfect 4.9 out of five-star rating^[1]. Alumni tended to praise the facility’s staff, accommodations, and treatment approach. “Absolutely an Amazing place!! The staff are so kind and passionate about helping others,” Darla, a representative reviewer, wrote. Reviewer Jana added: “Serenity Light Recovery is absolutely gorgeous and filled with loving and caring professionals.”

The sole loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing agreed with these positive assessments, particularly concerning the staff. “Everyone that works here have been amazing with my loved one and he is thriving in this setting,” Kate wrote. Offering a five-star rating for the treatment staff’s treatment effectiveness, she added: “His growth as an individual is remarkable!!!”
