Founded in 1890, Illinois Institute of Technology is a private, technology-focused university, located in Chicago, that combines hands-on learning and research opportunities across the disciplines to prepare students to innovate and solve real-world problems. Illinois Tech is home to more than 7,800 students from 100 countries and 48 states enrolled in undergraduate and graduate degree programs in engineering, the sciences, architecture, human sciences, design, business, applied technology, and law. Illinois Tech's Mies Campus, located three miles from downtown Chicago and adjacent to Guaranteed Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox, was named by Forbes as one of the country's most beautiful college campuses. Nineteen of its buildings, including the iconic S. R. Crown Hall, were designed by the legendary architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and architects Helmut Jahn and Rem Koolhaas, respectively, designed the contemporary State Street Village residence hall and The McCormick Tribune Campus Center; the latter incorporated elevated train tracks into its design. Our technology-focused curriculum, and specifically our signature Interprofessional Projects (IPRO) Program, is distinctive. Each semester-long IPRO course is a team-based project in which students from various majors work together to find solutions to real-world problems, such as developing a system for clean drinking water for the world's rural poor and developing a robotic standing wheelchair with a supinating arm. Innovative thinking is always taking place at Illinois Tech, especially in the Idea Shop. This 13,000-square-foot facility with rapid-prototyping equipment, 3-D printers, tools for app development, a laser cutter, and other cutting-edge equipment helps students turn ideas into reality. The university is constructing the Ed Kaplan Family Institute for Innovation and Tech Entrepreneurship. The Kaplan Institute promises to have a major impact on undergraduate and graduate education by housing facilities and equipment for implementing novel, educational, and entrepreneurial strategies. Two $1 million-plus Nayar Prize awards were established to encourage breakthrough projects that will produce meaningful results with a societal impact. We are a provisional member of the NCAA Division III; varsity athletes compete on men's and women's teams in basketball, cross country, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, and volleyball; men's baseball; and women's lacrosse. Illinois Tech offers intramural sports, special leadership programs, and more than 150 student organizations. The university is home to more than two-dozen research centers, including the Pritzker Institute of Biomedical Science and Engineering and the Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research. A signature research initiative is the campus-wide Illinois Tech Microgrid, which is designed to eliminate costly outages, minimize power disturbances, and curb greenhouse gas emissions; it is the nation's first functional microgrid. Undergraduates have the opportunity to work alongside faculty and researchers both on campus and at national laboratories. Innovations including the cell phone, magnetic recording, tall building architecture, and bar code technology are associated with Illinois Tech faculty and alumni. Our co-terminal degree programs allow students to earn both bachelor's and master's degrees in as few as five years. Top Illinois Tech applicants are invited to apply and interview for the Camras Scholars Program, a full-tuition scholarship, as well as the elite Duchossois Leadership Scholars Program. Every admitted student is automatically considered for a Heald Scholarship, up to $25,000 each annually. More than 98 percent of our students receive some type of financial aid. A 2017 report from the Equality of Opportunity Project showed that Illinois Tech surpasses all other Illinois universities profiled when it comes to the earnings of our graduates from low-income households. |

Shaped by its vibrant, urban setting and Jesuit tradition, Loyola University Chicago offers a transformative educational environment. We empower students to develop knowledge and skills, find purpose, shape identity, and make a difference in their communities. At Loyola, we offer the tools students need to achieve success in the classroom, their careers, faith, life, and the world. We represent and welcome all faiths, ethnicities, and economic backgrounds, with a common purpose of building a better society. Loyola is located in Chicago, Illinois, the third largest city in the United States and a global leader in commerce, industry, and culture. Chicago is an extended campus for Loyola students, who have direct access to the citys countless career, internship, service, cultural, recreational, and entertainment opportunities. Students take classes primarily at the Lake Shore Campus, nestled alongside Lake Michigan on Chicago's north side, and at the Water Tower Campus located in the city's famous Gold Coast neighborhood. Medical students benefit from the University's clinical partnership with the Loyola University health System and Trinity Health. Our Health Sciences Campus, located in suburban Maywood is home to Loyola's Stritch School of Medicine, Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing, and Graduate School's biomedical programs. Loyola's reach also extends around the world. The John Felice Rome Center in Italy, the Beijing Center in China, and the Vietnam Center in Ho Chi Minh City, along with more than 100 other study abroad options in 60 countries, offer students the chance to engage with the global community and economy. Loyola's 11 schools and colleges offer more than 80 undergraduate majors and more than 140 graduate, professional, and graduate-level certificate programs. Nineteen programs integrate coursework from multiple disciplines to give students an opportunity to explore and synthesize topics from a variety of viewpoints. Our distinguished faculty are leaders in their fields. They integrate research and practical experiences into the classroom. Ninety-three percent hold the highest academic degrees in their respective fields. Small classes emphasize student-to-faculty interaction and partnership opportunities in service learning and research. An undergraduate degree at Loyola takes four years (120 credit hours) to complete and includes undergraduate major requirements, the Core Curriculum, and electives. At Loyola, some of the most impactful learning takes place outside of the classroom. Students routinely give back to the community while exploring their interests and may earn academic credit for their service. Loyola offers more than 250 student clubs, activities, and organizations to connect with others, make lifelong friendships, and enjoy a richer college experience. Students will find all the brains of a nationally ranked research university combined with the heart of a small college at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Our faculty are some of the most-cited experts in their fields, yet they still give students the personal attention they deserve in a welcoming, beautiful setting next to national and state parks.SIU Carbondale students have opportunities to gain hands-on, real-world experience that will give them the edge after they graduate. Many participate in research as early as their freshman year, and others build their resumes through service projects, artistic and creative activities, and student organizations related to their areas of study. Our students regularly gain experience by participating in - and winning - regional and national competitions in aviation, broadcasting, debate, engineering and more. Here's more:--We offer more than 200 majors in agricultural sciences, applied arts and sciences, business, education and human services, engineering, law, liberal arts, mass communication and media arts, medicine and science.--More than 80 percent of our undergraduate class sections have fewer than 30 students.--SIU grants more than $10 million in scholarships and grants each year.--SIU attracts students from across the United States and more than 100 countries; undergraduate students from within the United States pay in-state rates.--Opportunities to engage in cultural and recreational activities abound, from concerts and speakers to the Student Recreation Center and Division I athletics.--SIU emphasizes innovation and sustainability through academic programs as well as projects funded through a student-supported "green fee."--The campus has been recognized as "bicycle friendly" and earned a "Tree Campus USA" designation because of SIU's commitment to forest management.--From career and health services to learning and academic advising support, SIU has all of the amenities and services that students need for a full and active college experience.--SIU is noted for its support of military veterans, students with disabilities and those who are the first in their families to attend college.--SIU is frequently recognized for its commitment to diversity, annually earning acclaim in multiple disciplines as a top 100 producer of degrees to minority students.--The university is among the top 5 percent of all U.S. higher education institutions for research.--SIU is among the nation's 50 most entrepreneurial research universities - the number of alumni and students who identify themselves as founders and business owners on LinkedIn - in the 2015 Forbes magazine list of "America's Most Entrepreneurial Universities."--SIU received the 2015 Community Engagement Classification from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in recognition of the university's commitment to service and outreach. |

More than 1,100 residential students enjoy cafes, green spaces, an outdoor fireplace and The Palio, a circular dining hall right out of Tuscany. The 175-acre campus features a fitness center, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, intramural athletics, and plenty of hills to keep you in shape. Knights Nation cheers on 21 NCAA Division II athletic teams, and rowdy students give Knights Hall one of the most lively and feared home court advantages in college basketball. A lacrosse team competes in Division I. Bellarmine strives to make tuition affordable to qualified applicants, and 100 percent of freshmen receive institutional scholarships and grants. A net price calculator on Bellarmines website will help you do the math. |

For more than 90 years, Murray State University has had a rich heritage of academic quality coupled with student success. The University's history dates back to 1922 when Rainey T. Wells presented the case for Murray, Kentucky to be the home of one of the new state universities. With Murray State's origins stemming from a hard-earned deposit of $117,000 from more than 1,000 individuals, Wells' vision led to a new normal school that would later become Murray State University. A caring atmosphere with a strong focus on rigor and excellence creates partnerships among and between faculty, staff, students, alumni and professionals to enhance the student experience. The University's Quality Enhancement Plan - Bringing Learning to Life - is an institutional priority and is anchored in the institution's mission. Experiential learning, study abroad programs and personal attention shown by faculty, give nearly 11,000 Murray State students the opportunity to succeed. Approximately 300 Murray State students studied abroad in more than 20 countries last year. Close to 800 international students representing nearly 60 different countries are enrolled in Murray State's undergraduate and graduate programs. Murray State University is a place for developing leaders in our community, the Commonwealth, the country and the world.Murray State programs are enhanced by several research and teaching facilities, including the Ray Science Campus; Hancock Biological Research Station; Watershed Studies Institute; Hutson School of Agricultures multiple research farms and equine facilities; nationally recognized veterinary diagnostic research center; Center for Telecommunications Systems Management; Mid-America Remote Sensing Center; Ross Mathematical Studies and Career Center; Centers for Banking & Finance, Economic Education, and Financial Planning; Speech and Hearing Clinic; and written and oral communications student support centers, among other facilities. As one of the best student-centered, comprehensive universities in the nation, Murray State offers students numerous opportunities. Students receive most of the big-time offerings of any large institution, but in a small and caring atmosphere in which personal attention from faculty and staff ensure student success. Students have the opportunity to receive academic scholarships based on a percentage of tuition, rather than a fixed cost. The model provides elasticity that families can depend on. The students have the ability to become involved in a welcoming Residential College system in which leadership and social and academic success are valued in a community-based living situation. The University offers an impressive 15 to 1 student to faculty ratio. Students truly become part of the University through involvement in a variety of student organizations - close to 160 total. Through these opportunities, as well as long-standing traditions such as All Campus Sing, Great Beginnings, Homecoming and the Shoe Tree, the Murray State University experience is truly unique. |

Kentucky State University is a historically black college founded in 1886 as a school dedicated to the sole purpose of training teachers for the African American school-age population. More than 125 years later, KSU has expanded its mission to offer a liberal arts education that prepares a diverse student population to compete in a multifaceted, ever-changing global society. KSU is also a land-grant institution with programs to study and address agricultural and family life issues offered through the College of Agriculture, Food Science and Sustainable Systems. The university continually finds ways to help students fulfill their dreams of earning a degree, whether securing them financial aid to begin and continue their educational journey; preparing students for college-level study with refresher courses and pre-entry programs; offering online classes; or offering courses taught by accessible professors in small-class settings. The faculty, staff and students embody the most diverse mix in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. More than 40 percent of KSU students represent various ethnicities besides African American, including those from Central America, Africa and Asia. KSU provides something for just about everyone, from traditional liberal arts fare to business, science, agricultural studies, fine arts, education, criminal justice, social work, journalism and aquaculture. Its nursing program is widely known for preparing skilled and knowledgeable professionals. In addition, the university has begun the work of developing the Doctor of Nursing Practice program following the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools approval of KSUs move from a Level III to Level V classification. As a result, KSU can now offer up to three doctoral degree programs. In addition, the graduate program has grown to include masters degrees in aquaculture, business administration, computer science, public administration and environmental studies. It also has a masters program in special education thats offered completely online for busy teachers who are required to earn a graduate degree.KSUs relationship with corporate partners has grown stronger in recent years. KSU and Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Kentucky unveiled a unique scholarship program that matches Toyotas need for mechanical engineers with that of top incoming students at Kentucky State University in Frankfort. Beginning in fall 2014, up to five incoming students will receive full-ride scholarships the first three years at KSU on a pre-engineering curriculum, the last two at the University of Kentucky under the Toyota Engineering Scholarship Program. After five years, participants in the program will have an undergraduate degree from Kentucky State and an engineering degree from the University of Kentucky.Alltech and Kentucky State University also have formed a research alliance in which Alltech will provide support for graduate research in agriculture, food sciences and sustainable systems and support undergraduate internships. The purpose of the alliance is to help feed a growing, hungry population by developing sustainable farming techniques and modern farming models. The partnership extends KSUs increased focus on the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) fields.Further encouraging interest in scientific research as well as having fun while learning about ecosystems, KSU recently introduced Kentucky River Thorobred. The universitys new aquatic vessel serves as a laboratory for undergraduate and graduate research. The boat will also be used to teach Kentuckys schoolchildren about the rivers history and ecology. |

Centre College offers its students a world of opportunities, highlighted by one of the nation's premier study abroad programs, along with a record of post-graduate success. Over the last decade, an average 85 percent of students studied abroad at least once during their four years at Centre. 97 percent of graduates in the most recent class are employed or pursuing advanced degrees within a year of graduation. For study abroad, nine permanent, semester-long residential programs are available in China, England, France, Japan, Mexico, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Spain. Shorter three-week programs in January explore an ever-increasing number of countries. Over the last two years alone, destinations have included Argentina, Austria, Barbados, Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Egypt, England, Ghana, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Panama, Rwanda, Spain, and Uganda. Related, a new semester-long study away program in Washington, D.C. has been so successful that a second program has been added in Chicago, and both include internship components. International study, undergraduate research, and internships are so integral to a Centre education that together they comprise the Centre Commitment, which guarantees study abroad, an internship or research opportunity, and graduation in four years, or Centre will provide up to one more year of tuition for free. An average 93 percent of Centre graduates participate in either an internship and/or an undergraduate research experience, opportunities that have helped students find their first post-graduation jobs or entrance into an ideal graduate program, law school, or medical school. Prestigious fellowships are also won on a regular basis. Rhodes Scholarship recipients, three Goldwater winners in the last five years, and the College's first Gates Cambridge and Boren scholars highlight Centre's stellar academic achievements. Rotary awards for international post-graduate study have also been won the last three years, and Centre is consistently among the nation's top Fulbright producers. A place of high achievement as well as high opportunity, Centre's exceptional commitment to remaining affordable is made possible in part by legions of devoted alumni. For over three decades, more than half of living alumni have made an annual gift to the College. Parent and senior class gifts have also recently hit the 50 percent mark. In addition, Centre's three premier scholarships (Brown, Grissom, and Lincoln) all cover full tuition or better, and the College's annual institutional aid budget exceeds $25 million. Centre is also a place where important conversations take place in and out of the classroom. In 2012, for the second time in a dozen years, Centre's Norton Center for the Arts was the setting for the nation's only Vice Presidential Debate. The Norton Center has also featured visits by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, the Blue Man Group, Alison Krauss and Union Station, New York Times columnist David Brooks, and Nobel prize-winner Elie Wiesel, to name a few. |

As America's first research institution, Johns Hopkins University is well known for innovative advances in everything from technology to history. The university emphasizes the importance of exploration and discovery in the undergraduate experience. Learning occurs through hands-on experiences across all academic disciplines and within every subject imaginable. The lack of a core curriculum fosters academic freedom, which allows students to create their own interdisciplinary paths. They choose classes they are genuinely interested in, not just required to take, so there's a real sense of curiosity around learning that extends beyond the classroom setting. More than 60 percent of Hopkins students double major or minor, often creating unique combinations like electrical engineering and romance languages or biomedical engineering and business. This establishes a dynamic, engaging learning environment where students from various backgrounds bring different perspectives to class discussions. Collaborative learning is fundamental to the academic environment and many spaces on campus are designed to foster collaboration across disciplines. State-of-the-art facilities such as the Undergraduate Teaching Labs or JHU-MICA Film Center also give students access to the latest learning technology. Hopkins professors, another invaluable resource, are experts in their fields who make important contributions to their industries and academia at large. They're enthusiastic about teaching and often include undergraduates in their own ground-breaking research. Students get to know their professors and classmates the way they would at a small liberal arts college but have all of the opportunities of a major research institution with a global reach. As a part of this community, undergraduates not only work alongside experts who share their interests but also run with projects of their own design. In fact, the university remains a national leader of research funding and students in all programs within the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences and Whiting School of Engineering gain practical experiences through research conducted both on and off campus. Several funded programs, such as the Provost's Undergraduate Research Awards and the Woodrow Wilson Undergraduate Research Fellowship, are dedicated to supporting undergraduate research. Students also encounter real-world experiences--like implementing marketing plans for local companies and heading startup businesses on campus--through the Center for Leadership Education and classes in business, marketing and communications, accounting and financial management, and entrepreneurship and management. Those interested in pursuing law or medicine choose any major/minor combination but follow a pre-law or pre-med advising track offered through the Office of Pre-Professional Advising. Though their paths may be varied throughout their four years on the Homewood campus, one thing is true of all Hopkins alumni: Graduates of Johns Hopkins are leaders who are distinctly prepared for their futures. |
