The lodge and the grounds are beautiful. Cooper Landing is one of our favorite places. You’re near the turquoise Kenai river and Kenai Lake (world-class fishing, hiking, rafting, drift boating, birding!). The lodge is private, up off the highway, and has a big awesome kitchen.
As a wedding venue, Heavenly Lodge provides lots of flexibility and opportunity. There is a whole host of vendors that have serviced weddings there before, so you can make things easy and go with them, or you can do your own thing. You can find ways to save money because you’re not required to hire anyone else here. It was also really important to us to be able to spend a few days with family and friends so that we didn’t just have one overwhelming day of happiness that goes by in a blur. Having a private lodge-setting, allowed us to spend time with all of our family and friends several days before and after the wedding and draw out the good times! We also booked an extra day before the wedding so we could start prepping, which I would highly recommend.
Maybe most importantly, using Heavenly Lodge as a wedding venue meant we got Katy and Brian Borchers on our team! Katy and Brian (the Heavenly Lodge caretakers) are just wonderful to work with (and in general). They’re excellent communicators, answering every little question we had from the moment we booked with them. They’re very experienced at helping with weddings so they know what works, what things to watch for, but in a way where it’s comfortable to express your own vision for the day. We rented the entire property for a few days (4 days, 3 nights for ~20 on-site guests + ~8 off-site guests) for our welcome dinner, wedding, and reception. The hosts were incredibly helpful, patient, and communicative throughout the 1.5 years that passed in between when we booked the spot and the end of the big weekend. It's not easy to piece together the details of a wedding site-unseen, and the hosts were instrumental in providing us with all the right advice and information to make the process relatively easy and affordable. Additionally, they were extremely helpful, responsive, and respectful throughout the event. They even installed a ramp to accommodate my grandparents! We worked with great local (mostly based out of Anchorage) vendors that we'd highly recommend to other couples, including those providing catering (Wes Masters Catering), photography (Chugach Peaks Photography), tent and dance floor (CBC Rentals), and flowers (Alaska Wholesale Flower Market). All of our guests raved about Alaska Heavenly Lodge, its hosts, and the vendors that we worked with! Everything went seamlessly. (Brides: Note that Alaska Heavenly Lodge has a basement full of rustic-themed wedding decor and vases that you can use for table centerpieces and other decorations. We made great use of these items without having to purchase any wedding decorations other than fresh flowers!) The space could not have been more perfect for hosting our intimate wedding, comfortably making non-catered meals in the beautiful kitchen, relaxing by the fireplace, having a group picnic off the porch, or taking a stroll out the backdoor of any of the gorgeous cabins. We feel that our wedding at Alaska Heavenly Lodge was every bit of miraculous. Heavenly is the right word to describe it. For 10 months, from day one to the day of, everyone at the Sterling Castle kept in contact with us to make sure our wedding day was everything we wanted. Every single detail was taken care of, and any questions we had always got an answer. I can’t thank them enough for being so responsive, caring, and reassuring that we would have our dream day. It was truly beautiful and more than I even expected. Misty is incredible with decor and details!
Brennan and Victor were also amazing. Brennan handled all our music. I picked out all the songs for our ceremony and first dances, and they all flowed flawlessly. During our first dance, we got a surprise by gorgeous little bubbles falling all around us from a bubble machine Brennan had up above us on the balcony. It was the perfect last minute detail that really made our first dance extra special and beautiful!

We had the reception there as well in the barn which was completely closed but had beautiful windows. They are able to have heat and air conditioning which is really nice. Something we didn't think about that they offered was the golf cart for older people. It was fully utilized. They also supplied the tables, chairs, and table clothes so that's something else you don't have to worry about. The staff/family is very helpful. They come up with a schedule for your wedding day and go every it with you to make sure everything covered. Heather, one of the staff members just got married so she is very understanding of a brides needs. She would've done anything I needed her to do. All the other vendors I booked loved the site which is helpful when everyone likes what they have to work with. The Summit Club did not order enough cloth napkins (requiring us to have 2 different colors) for the dinner; ran out of hor dourves, alcoholic beverages, and glasses for non-alcoholic beverages during the cocktail hour; and some of the wait attendants did not offer guests tea during the dinner. As the Mother of the Bride, I shouldn't have to ask twice for a clean glass for water during the cocktail hour. Otter Creek Farm is a rustic wedding venue located in Ohatchee, Alabama. Set at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the venue features rolling fields of native grasses, creeks, open woods, and a lake filled with trophy bass and rainbow trout. This farm was a vision of native Alabamians, Frank and Jane Brown. After being destroyed by storms in 2011, the farm was rebuilt in 2013 and was redesigned to let out for events in 2016.

We were promptly welcomed, by their precious rescue dog, “Le Roy Brown”, who serves as the unofficial concierge of the property. The lodge, game room, locker room with kennels, barn, and bunkhouse were meticulously designed and decorated by the Brown’s. We knew immediately that we had found the perfect location for Stephanie and Jeremy’s wedding.The Brown's had an unbelievable schedule and were booked at a 100% capacity during hunting season. Despite being booked, they were never too busy to promptly respond to questions I had as we were planning the wedding. The venue was in spectacular form the weekend of the wedding. Stephanie and her bridesmaids stayed in the bunk house Friday night. Saturday morning, they were served a delicious brunch prepared by Jane and hosted by friends.
We chose to have our Rehearsal Dinner in the Grand Room which is equipped with a state of the art commercial kitchen and sound system. Words cannot describe the beauty and details of the Grand Room. The chandeliers and lighting, custom built tables, beautifully decorated veranda overlooking the infinity pool, with its waterfalls, all are breathtaking. The Grand Room has a Bride’s Suite that is exquisitely decorated and allowed privacy for Stephanie and her bridesmaids to savor the anticipation of the wedding in an intimate setting. It also allowed me to spend some precious time with my daughter before her walk down the aisle. Thank you for making Stephanie and Jeremy's day so perfect, your attention to detail, stunning venue and ability to turn their dreams into reality have left us all with magical memories.
