I chose to have my reception at the Alyeska Hotel for a number of reasons. After comparing prices at the hotel and nearby places where I would be responsible for doing everything, there was simply not that much difference in price. But there was a HUGE difference in service, meaning I didn't have to do that much. Jennifer McCombs at Alyeska was my contact. She was patient and ever so professional. She always returned my calls or emails. Every little detail at the reception was taken care of. My friends did the decorating and DJ/emcee work. The hotel had a food tasting to choose different buffet selections and desserts. My parents and I and my husband met with the chef and the pastry chef, who had prepared an elegant tasting for us. I knew I wanted to have prime rib, but usually buffet prime rib is overdone and not very tasty. This was excellent prime rib. The desserts were little works of art. I got and am still getting so many compliments on the food and everything else. I live in Anchorage and was staying at the hotel as were several guests both local and from out of state. I have to say (without prejudice) this was the best wedding and reception I have ever attended. This is due in large part to Jennifer and the Alyeska Hotel. Would I recommend them to a friend? Views of Denali Peak across the snow covered lake from two story floor to ceiling windows wowed our out of state guests. The outside features a multilevel deck and one area has two fire pits under a covered area which extended our party space. The large front deck was perfect for overhead drone photos! It's legal to shoot fireworks here and so they let us do that off the frozen lake. Wow!

Sara and Susanna (and the entire hotel staff) were so incredibly helpful in creating the perfect wedding week for my husband and me and all of our guests. They were so welcoming to our guests, who were all raving about the service during their stay. Prior to the wedding week, we were planning the wedding from Boston, MA (6 hour time difference from Italy) and Sara and Susanna were always quick to respond to any of my questions. They had great suggestions for guest gift bags (and arranged all of them prior to our arrival), decorations for the venue, menus, etc. and set us up with their connections for everything from the florist, to the hair dressers, and the organist for the church. They also handled all of the logistical details for the day of, which are the last things you'll want to focus on during your wedding day.

The reception itself was incredible - Le Boscarecce is an absolutely stunning location, with beautiful gardens and a view over the Tuscan countryside. Sara and Susanna helped us plan the day perfectly so the buses arrived at Le Boscarecce just in time for sunset. Dinner was an amazingly delicious meal, prepared by another member of the family. All of the wine for the night was included in the cost, and they were more than happy to have the bartender serve hard alcohol that we purchased ourselves.

My husband and I were married at the Lotos Club in October and it was nothing short of magical.

From the second my parents and I stepped foot into the Club during our search for a wedding venue, we were blown away by the ambience, the staff, and the building itself. Every room of the club has a history that transcends you to Twain's era. The day of our wedding was no different. My bridesmaids and I arrived and were met by the Club's fabulous event planner, Heather, and her assistants. We were escorted to our private room and greeted with champagne, snacks, smiles and helping hands. I felt like a princess. The entire staff took part in ensuring every single need was met (champagne refills, lighting candles, helping me walk in my dress, etc.). Although last minutes jitters were rampant, Heather and her staff calmed and reassured all.

Our wedding went off without a hitch. The ceremony was breathtaking. The pictures in Central Park were perfect in twinkling twilight. The cocktail party was lively and bubbling. The food and wine were out of the world-- (I'd recommend the duck as it was superb!). The entire Lotos Club staff ensured that my family and I had everything we needed before we even needed it. The entire day was a picture-perfect wedding dream. We could not have been happier dancing the night away.

When I was looking for a venue, I wanted a venue where I didn't I have to worry about anything and this one sounded like a dream come true. The manager was so helpful, she was had experience and was on top of her game. A few months before the wedding she ended up leaving and I got a new manager. Throughout the remaining time I felt more like I was manager her, rather than her managing the process. I would send her updated emails, and she would send me an updated receipts with things missing. The day of the wedding, there was a luncheon event in the reception room from 1pm-2pm and my wedding starts at 4pm. She never told me, I found out after the fact. There was a huge rush at the end to get everything setup, and things were still getting setup while guest were arriving. According to some guest the luncheon was still going on! We still managed to start the ceremony at 4:20pm. However when we got to the reception room, the back drop was white not blue. There was suppose to be a blue overlay on the wedding table, there was not, and the buffet tables were suppose to have a blue or white skirt, and it was purple. It was also about 80 degrees in the ceremony and reception room, it was very unusual warm. Other than the cosmetics issues, the food was great, and everything in the reception room went smoothly. After the reception the groom and I had a room for the night. We were told the room would be cleaned, there would be champagne and they would box some food for us since they understand we are too busy to eat. None of that happened. The very next day we left for our honeymoon, and when we got back, I was surprised with a credit charge from the venue. I immediately sent an email to the manager about what happened on the wedding day and this surprise charge. She apologized for everything, said there was no excuses, and issued a refund. She was so positive and competent and in-control as she guided me through the pre-wedding checklists, etc. and went with me to meet with vendors and discuss options that I really felt I had a ""ringer"" on my side! Even though my wedding was in Ft. Myers and not Miami, Robin never made me feel like it was an inconvenience or a problem - to the contrary, she was proactive and had suggestions of a few local vendors she'd worked with previously, and made a few pre-wedding trips over to the venue to meet with the on-site staff and otherwise get the lay of the land to be sure that everything was totally in place. When the big weekend finally came, Robin was there with her assistant and it was SUCH a relief to know everything was in her capable hands. At the rehearsal, I could just relax and let her keep the groomsmen in line when they weren't paying attention, and if someone asked me a question on logistics, I could blissfully point to Robin and say ""she's in charge, ask her."" The same thing applied to a greater extent the next day for the wedding. The only thing I had to think about was sitting there getting my hair and makeup done and pouring mimosas for my bridesmaids - Robin coordinated all the vendors, she set up all of my table runners and assembled my submerged orchid & floating candle centerpieces and just generally made everything perfect, and I was able to spend my day firmly ensconced in my little ""Bride Bubble"" where everything was taken care of and I only had eyes for my husband. When the evening was over (after we had left of course), she coordinated the cleanup with the event staff so our families didn't have to worry about it, and gathered up all the wedding decor, etc. and dropped it off where I would have it available the next day when we left town, and she even packed to-go boxes of wedding cake for us to have as a snack if we wanted! The day after the wedding she met up with us at the brunch to collect all the tuxes and return them to the tux rental store - she truly saw every detail through to the last. My wedding weekend was truly perfect from my standpoint, and I know the thread that brought and held everything together was Robin. She is so smart and capable that it is easy to feel totally confident in her and her ability to take your vision from dream to reality - so you can focus on being the bride and ""living the dream!"" Like the other review, I cannot say enough good things. We used the loft on the fourth floor. It is a classic old New York building with floor to ceiling windows, beautiful archways, white columns and they have made it so beautiful with rolling barn doors, vintage furniture options. It is just a beautiful space that you can use as is or add decor to.
My main contact was Travis, and he was great. Incredibly responsive, and very accommodating of site visits and emails with all kinds of questions. All of the folks we encountered were great, including the owner and our day-of-event coordinator Eric.

We had 84 people at long tables and it was a great size for that providing lots of room for mingling and a dance floor. The kitchen is a great space for caterers to work from and really require minimal rentals as far as kitchen equipment. The entire space is beautifully kept up, the foyer entrance, restrooms, main space, kitchen, etc.

There is a built in sound system that worked great for our needs, so that too was one less thing we needed to worry about. The entrance area was great for table cards and a guest book table and main space could be set up in a variety of ways.

The location is also great, easy to get to via public transportation and tons of parking garages around.
We honestly could not have been happier with this space. After endlessly looking at places that weren't quite right or foolishly overpriced, we stumbled upon this place and it was fate. After searching all over for a perfect place for our 70-person wedding, we knew this was perfect. Gorgeous and elegant, yet has a comfortable feeling. Refreshingly and fairly priced. And dealing with Carlos is a pleasure.

Carlos put us at ease from the start and is one of the reasons we chose this space. He's so patient, helpful, and - I must say - kind. Never pushy like other rental managers. Always quick with a complete answer, no matter how many questions we emailed! He answered our vendors' emails and arranged for them to preview the space. He was there to quietly help during the wedding and with cleanup.

The loft's incredibly convenient location and ""non-scary"" neighborhood were appreciated by our small-town guests. They said they loved the ""quintessential New York"" experience of being in a high-ceiling loft.

Neutral in a great way; you can do anything with it (or leave it as-is and it doesn't feel naked). The paper globe ceiling lanterns can be dimmed for just the right atmosphere. There are well-placed hookups into the BOSE speakers tactically placed in the ceiling, so we could connect an iPod and get fabulous sound.

Great place for a wedding reception! My wedding was a dream come true! The food was splendid, the lights provided by R&R Productions were matched to my wedding colors, and the service were superb!!! The help we received throught the planning of our wedding was amazing!!!! Everything we desired, everything we dreamt of. It was like our own magic night. Everything was a delight. I cannot think of anyone more professional to work with. You know you are in good hands from the moment you start talking to them. And believe me, I went and took lost of pictures from many other various places, before I decided on the Dena'ina. Some of those other places were not ready for me even though we scheduled an appointment. Others never followed up with me after I asked for pictures of the linens and of the events that have alredy taken place in such facilities (like the Marriott downtown Anchorage).
Nonetheless, I did not give the Denaina a total 5 points in responsiveness. The reason is that since we didn't have a wedding planner some very good friends of ours set up all the decoration, overlays, centerpieces, LED candles, mirrors, chair covers, sashes for the chairs, etc (if you ever need a set up crew! I will give you their phone number! They really made everything look like out of a dream!). The decoration for the signing table could not be placed before an event manager could get to the Denaina for understandable security reasons (which I appreciated inmensenly). So we were advised to leave these 3-5 items on the guift table and the event manager will put them out on the signing table. I left explicit notes on each item of what needed to be done with each one of them. Well for my dismay not all of the items made it out to the signing table. We were a little dissaponted about this, just because without them, the signing tables looked a little plain in such a bright light. Some of these items were candy jars that guests really appreciate when they are signing your wedding book and your wedding picture. It is a little ""Welcome! Thank you for coming to our reception, come in, please!"". But other than that, everything went without hiccups! From the beginning she understood the type of wedding my husband and I wanted and she worked hard to make sure our ideas came to fruition.
One of my main concerns was that I did not want to be rushing around on my wedding day trying to solve problems. She had everything completely in hand. Days after our wedding I found out about several small ""emergencies"" that she just took care of without ever stressing me, my family, or my bridal party out.
Even my bridesmaids LOVED her. They were grateful for her detailed itinerary. And very grateful that they didn't get stuck with the grunt work of the day. They even tried to pressure Rachel into staying for the after party- this was from a bridesmaid who recently went to a wedding and was HORRIFIED when the wedding planner came to the after party. It is a modern space with fantastic views of the NYC skyline and a wrap-around balcony. Good for rainy or sunny weather. The space is a blank canvas, so you have to be ready to work with many different vendors to pull an event together (I think we had about 10 -- from lighting, to sound, to catering, to furniture rentals, etc.). To rent the space you must become a member of the museum. This is on the pricey side, but you then receive invitations and access to events and openings for a full year, making it less of a hit on your pocketbook if you like to attend these sorts of events.

Our initial main contact at the museum left a few months before our event which made us a bit nervous, but the Director of Special Events stepped in and did a fantastic job. We felt well taken care of. When it turned out that there was some unexpected scaffholding in front of the museum the day of our reception, museum staff went above and beyond to organize and cover the costs of additional floral and lighting to mask it as best possible. We did not want to pick a restaurant or hotel banquet room that would could not be differentiated from any other location in the city or in any other city. World Yacht gave our guests access to New York City that even people that have been to the city several times have not experienced. When the boat stopped in front of the Statue of Liberty illuminated, I thought the boat was going to capsize with everyone on the one side appreciating the view and taking photos. World Yacht has a lot more to offer beyond the views. Everyone was impressed with the food and the attentiveness of the service staff. People absolutely raved about the osso bucco. For me the one thing that I could not do without for the wedding was Fiona Yan, the wedding planner provided by World Yacht. The night before our wedding we met another couple from England also having a destination wedding and we compared experiences. The bride complained about spending a lot of money and time making trips to plan the wedding. I had a completely different experience working with Fiona. She was very organized, responsive, and positive. I felt like I was her only client but I know she had a full schedule. At first I tried to arrange the hotel lodging for my guests on my own and the salesperson was not responsive. I told Fiona about my problems and by the end of the day I had the sales manager calling to apologize and Fiona had made a better deal with Ink48, a hotel that all my guests loved. After that she was my one-stop shopping for flowers, music, tuxedos, hair, makeup, and a bus trip. During the weekend my guests commented how relaxed I seemed to be.
