Alaska Pacific University Alaska Pacific University (locally referred to as "APU" or "Alaska Pacific") is a relatively small undergraduate college located in Alaska's most populous city of Anchorage. APU offers a liberal arts education and curriculum that emphasizes experiential and active learning. APU belongs to the Eco League – a consortium of six colleges that offer strong programs in environmental studies, natural history, sustainable business, marine biology, and other programs revolving around ecology and sustainability. Alaska Pacific is the only university in Alaska to offer an Early Honors program where high school seniors can enroll in Alaska Pacific common courses and earn college credit while completing their senior year of high school. Early Honors is a popular program among Anchorage high school students looking for an early start on their college education. Alaska Pacific offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Areas of study at the undergraduate level include Psychology, Education, Business, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Liberal Studies, and Outdoor Studies. In addition to a challenging undergraduate program, Alaska Pacific offers a vibrant and engaging campus life. The university offers several student groups and clubs, including various outdoor programs. At the graduate level, APU offers nine programs. Alaska Career College Alaska Career College (ACC) – formerly the Career Academy of Anchorage – is a 1 to 2-year private for-profit career institute that offers associate degrees and certificates in some of today's most indemand career fields and disciplines. The college specializes in providing hands-on training and instruction designed to prepare students for successful careers in Aircraft Dispatching, Business (Computer Tech., Accounting Tech., and Human Resource Mgmt), Insurance Coding and Billing, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician and Therapeutic Massage. ACC will accept transfer credits from other accredited colleges or postsecondary institutions as long a grade of C or higher was received at the completion of the courses for which credits were awarded. Credits transferred from other postsecondary educational institutions may only be applied toward completion of a program. Transfer credits will no be considered in grade computations or overall GPA. In some cases, students may be required to test out of courses before transfer credits may be applied. Before prospective students can attend Alaska Career College they must fill out and submit an application, have an interview with an ACC Career Consultant and visit the college's campus in Anchorage. Some students are also required to take an Ability Benefit exam to demonstrate that attending ACC is going to be of benefit to them.

Ilisagvik College Ilisagvik College is a 2-year community college that is operated by Alaskan Native American tribes (Inupiat Eskimos). The college is located in Barrow, Alaska in a relatively remote area near Alaska's North Slope. The mission of the college is to provide higher education and vocational training in a way that supports the culture and values of the indigineous Inupiat people. Ilisagvik College (IC) offers two-year associate's degree, one-year certificates and career-focused training courses. Areas of study at IC include Construction Trades, Inupiat Studies, Allied Health, Office Administration, Accounting, Business Management, Industrial Safety, Computer Technology and Truck Operations. In addition to being regionally accredited through the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, Ilisagvik College belongs to the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC). The goal of AIHEC is to strengthen tribal nations and improve the lives of Alaska Native Inupiat Eskimos and American Indians.

University of Alaska Anchorage The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is a public four-year university with nearly 20,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students. 16,000 of UAA students attend the university's main campus in Anchorage while 3,000+ are enrolled at UAA community campuses. Community campuses include Kodiak College, Prince William Sound College, Kenai Peninsula College and Matanusak-Sustina College. The University of Alaska Anchorage is the largest university and institution of higher learning in the state of Alaska. University of Alaska Southeast The University of Alaska Southeast is a public university that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in various academic fields of study and career-oriented disciplines.
