ABOUT MT SINAI WELLNESS CENTER

Located in the mountains of northern Georgia, 55 miles from Atlanta, Mt. Sinai Wellness Center provides an intensive, highly specialized residential program for adults struggling with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. The upscale facility also provides on-site medical detoxification services, as well as medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for individuals recovering from opioid addiction and alcohol dependency.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Upon admission into the program, clients participate in an initial substance abuse and psychiatric evaluation to help clinicians form an individualized plan of care. To treat clients with specific co-occurring concerns, Mt. Sinai Wellness Center provides three specialized residential program tracks: a cognitive behavior therapy (CBT Track), a dialectical behavior therapy (DBT Track), and a Trauma Track.

The specific track is determined by the co-occurring disorder. For instance, clients who struggle with irrational thinking may be referred to the CBT Track, while residents who struggle with emotional regulation may be referred to the DBT Track. Mt. Sinai Wellness Center's Trauma Track may incorporate eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and prolonged exposure to treat individuals diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related concerns.

In addition to these specialized counseling services, Mt. Sinai Wellness Center regular holds 12-Step, Smart Recovery, and Refuge Recovery meetings. Family members may also be invited to attend family counseling sessions and educational support groups. The facility also offers a range of MAT options to help alleviate cravings, specifically Vivitrol and Antabuse for alcohol dependency and Suboxone to treat opioid addiction.

Along with its traditional methods, Mt. Sinai Wellness Center offers a range of experiential and alternative therapies. During residential treatment, clients participate in yoga sessions, acupuncture, Tai Chia, aqua therapy, equine therapy, and rock climbing. Once a client completes the residential program, clinicians help clients and family members to create a comprehensive discharge planning. Alumni are also invited to return to campus for a \"recharge\" each quarter after graduation.

Set on 43 wooded acres, Mt. Sinai Wellness Center's upscale treatment facility features a heated pool, sun deck, a fully equipped gym, saunas, Jacuzzis, and a recreation room. The grounds feature an outdoor recreational field and hiking trails through the surrounding mountains. Residents also enjoy luxury bedrooms with hardwood floors and private bathrooms, as well as meals prepared by a professional, 4-star chef.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The sole alum polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing praised all aspects of the facility, specifically the facility's upscale accommodations and its treatment staff. \"I just left Mt. Sinai and the place is really amazing,\" Dominic wrote. \"It really is a mountain resort with amazing people. The Doctor and therapists were great.\"

Secondary sources revealed other alumni agreed with this positive assessment. On the facility's Facebook page, which the facility can manage, nine reviewers all gave the facility a perfect five out of five-star rating^[1]. Many alumni also praised the facility's staff and accommodations. \"Great caring environment i have never met a staff so driven to help people with addictiin and recovery,\" Tasha, a representative reviewer, wrote.

The three loved one polled by Rehabs.com at the time of this writing also praised the facility, citing the facility's accommodations, experienced staff, and the quality of food as facility strengths. Each loved one also gave perfect five-star ratings for the facility's overall effectiveness. \"I highly recommend Mt. Sinai Wellness Center to anyone whose loved one has an addiction problem,\" loved one M.R.K. wrote.

Focus Treatment Centers offer compassionate, comprehensive and affordable treatment and advocacy for adults struggling with substance use and eating disorders. Our therapeutic and philosophical framework utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support our patients in achieving long-lasting behavior changes based on acceptance and mindfulness practices. We also engage our patients in intensive shame reduction and self-compassion work as well as trauma therapy grounded in attachment theory and movement therapy.

Located among the Blue Ridge Mountains of Chattanooga, the Focus Treatment Centers offer comprehensive residential and outpatient treatment programs for adults struggling with substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and eating disorders.

The facility offers a continuum of care for substance abuse recovery. Patients in the residential treatment program generally stay for 28 days. During this time, they are exposed to 12-Step principles in a therapeutic framework that includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), life skills training based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and intensive relapse prevention counseling. The program also includes expressive therapies such as art and gentle yoga. The facility offers on-site medically-monitored detox. Directed by a physician and monitored round-the-clock by nurses, detox treatment generally takes four to 10 days.

Focus Treatment Centers offers lower levels of care too. The partial hospitalization program (PHP) is available to those who need medical support and intensive counseling without a residential component. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) helps participants develop skills in a supportive, therapeutic process-group environment. Patients attend three three-hour group modules three times per week for a duration of 20 sessions and can choose between morning and evening hours.

The professional treatment staff comprises doctors, psychotherapists, nurses, and a dietitian. According to its website, Focus Treatment Centers \"has earned and maintained the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval.\"

Patients in the residential treatment program stay in semi-private rooms. They visit the local YMCA three times a week and go on weekly social outings to the movies, plays and the park.

The six alumni polled by Rehabs.com to date provided positive reviews of Focus Treatment Centers. They rated the major categories of the survey -- overall effectiveness, accommodations, and meals and nutrition -- perfect five stars and high four stars. They did the same for: holistic offerings, family participation, the staff's experience and training, 12-Step treatment, exercise/leisure, and family participation. All six would recommend the facility, giving it five stars. Isolated criticism included \"not enough free time,” \"expensive,\" and \"not long enough.\"

Alum Gerald, in a representative review, wrote, “I went there a broken man who could no longer function in life as a responsible adult and they completely gave me the tools to get back to my core values.” Another alum told Rehabs.com: \"I am forever grateful to the caring, loving staff at Focus Healthcare for teaching me what I needed to know to begin to navigate this journey in recovery.\"

Rehabs.com has not yet received feedback from loved ones; however, reviews from loved ones on Google are mixed. Danielle, a five-star reviewer, wrote: “My husband is celebrating 1 year if sobriety this weekend. I credit his time at Focus for the success he has had. The staff was great to work with and pushed him to deal with his issues.”

Yet, an anonymous Google reviewer, who rated the rehab one star, commented: “This program is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. My husband and I participated in the Families in Focus weekend at a cost of $150 each for participation plus travel, lodging, etc. We thought the weekend, particularly the ‘Group Process: Family Impact Sharing,’ session was extremely disappointing and even detrimental to our family.”^[1]

The sole staff member who responded to Rehabs.com at this time of writing gave five stars for accommodations, meals and nutrition, and family participation. They would also recommend treatment there. This staff member provided four stars for the facility’s affordability but wrote “Not affordable for someone w/ no insurance or state-funded insurance.” The same staff member gave low ratings for counseling options, exercise options, and holistic approach.
