| 2018-01-04 01:44:55 | How Do I Choose The Right Water Pump For My Needs? | When shopping for a water pump there are various items to consider. All water pumps are measured in discharge capacity (GPM), vertical suction lift, and maximum head lift. GPM Discharge Capacity is the rate of speed which water flows from the source to the discharge point and is measured in gallons per minute. It provides the power to move water quickly. Vertical Suction Lift is the vertical distance from the source of the water to the pump. This is important for draining a basement or deep pond. Maximum Head Lift is the total height from the source of the water to the destination or drainage point. This provides the power to move water over a distance. |

| 2018-01-04 01:44:55 | Is it bad to run the pump dry? | Absolutely. The water pump shaft and impeller are spinning at extremely fast rates. With no water to transfer their rotational energy to, that energy is released as heat instead. If the pump is run dry, its moving parts will become extremely hot, causing severe damage to the pump over time and greatly limiting its service life. | 39 | 2018-01-03 21:20:12 | Trash Pump - 2 Inch - TP2158 | 7 | 2018-01-03 21:20:12 | Trash Pumps |

| 2018-01-04 01:44:55 | Pressure and Flow, and what causes water pressure. | Pressure and flow are inversely related–that is, if pressure is increased, then flow decreases, and vice versa. “Pressure” is the amount of force per area, and “flow” is the volume of material moving through a given area per second (not the same as velocity, which is the distance traveled per time). Water pressure is caused by resistance to flow. If a force tries to move water and there is resistance to that movement, then the water becomes pressurized. Consider a standard garden hose; when the end of the hose is unrestricted, water flows out of the hose in large quantities, but without much force. If you press your thumb over the opening, however, the stream of water that shoots out from around your thumb will be much more forceful and will travel further, but there will also be less water per second leaving the hose. |

| 2018-01-04 01:44:55 | Should the fuel be drained when storing the portable generator for more than 30 days? | Yes. It is highly recommended that you drain the fuel from the tank and run the carburetor dry. ECHO Bear Cat engines meet EPA regulations which are less tolerant of stale fuel. The use of a fuel stabilizer is highly recommended. | 39 | 2018-01-03 21:20:12 | Trash Pump - 2 Inch - TP2158 | 7 | 2018-01-03 21:20:12 | Trash Pumps |
| 2018-01-04 01:44:55 | What are the types of engine driven pumps in the market today? | Transfer/Clear Water Pumps - Transfer pumps are ideal for draining your hot tub or garden pond. In addition, they can be used to drain shallow flooded areas and for lawn sprinkling. These types of pumps are made for clear water pumping and should be free of debris; although they can handle small solids up to .25 inch. Semi-Solid Pumps - Semi-solid pumps tend to have similar characteristics to transfer pumps except that they are able to handle small solids of .25 to .75 inch. Semi-solid pumps are best suited for draining your pool or removing water from your basement. Trash Pumps - Trash pumps are able to pass solids from .75 to 2 inches and are used for commercial and agricultural use. Typically these pumps are used for irrigation, to drain small flooded areas or utilized on a construction site. High-Pressure Pumps - High-pressure pumps are designed to provide higher pressure at lower volumes. This is ideal for agricultural and hobby farm markets due to this type of pump’s ability to move water over long distances. |

| 2018-01-04 01:44:55 | What causes pump cavitation? | When the inlet pressure of a water pump falls below pump design specifications, tiny vapor bubbles can form in the water around the eye of the impeller. When the water containing these bubbles is forced into a high pressure environment on the other side of the impeller, these bubbles collapse, thereby creating tiny shock waves and points of high temperature. These shock waves can actually corrode the surface of the impeller. To prevent cavitation, always be sure to operate your water pump within its pressure and flow specifications. |

| 2018-01-04 01:44:55 | What happens when an open centrifugal pump is “Dead-headed”? | centrifugal pump is ‘dead-headed’ when it is operated without an open discharge outlet. Contrary to what one might assume, centrifugal pumps cannot be stalled if water flow is cut off. Very little horsepower input is required in order to spin the impeller with no water flow, so if the pump is driven by a hydraulic motor, the input hydraulic pressure will be low and the pump will not stall, instead continuing to spin the same volume of water as it would during normal operation. With no outlet, the rotational energy of the shaft and impeller is converted into heat; eventually, the water will boil inside the volute, causing severe damage over time. |

| 2018-01-04 01:44:55 | What is an open centrifugal pump? | Centrifugal water pumps use centrifugal force to pressurize and move water from the inlet to the outlet. A rotating set of vanes (called an 'impeller') is spun by the pump shaft. As water is forced through the impeller, rotational energy is transferred from the impeller to the water, which gains velocity and pressure through the centrifugal force applied and is flung from the impeller. The volute (a spiral-shaped case) funnels the now-pressurized water to the outlet. Image below shows clockwise rotation as viewed from the motor mound. |

| 2018-01-04 01:45:21 | Is it bad to run the pump dry? | Absolutely. The water pump shaft and impeller are spinning at extremely fast rates. With no water to transfer their rotational energy to, that energy is released as heat instead. If the pump is run dry, its moving parts will become extremely hot, causing severe damage to the pump over time and greatly limiting its service life. | 42 | 2018-01-03 21:20:12 | Trash Pump - 3 inch - TP3266 | 7 | 2018-01-03 21:20:12 | Trash Pumps |
| 2018-01-04 01:45:21 | Is there a rental application for this machine? | Yes. Commercial landscapers and yard care people will have a seasonal need for this piece of equipment. | 42 | 2018-01-03 21:20:12 | Trash Pump - 3 inch - TP3266 | 7 | 2018-01-03 21:20:12 | Trash Pumps |
| 2018-01-04 01:45:21 | Pressure and Flow, and what causes water pressure. |

| 2018-01-04 01:45:21 | Should the fuel be drained when storing the portable generator for more than 30 days? | Yes. It is highly recommended that you drain the fuel from the tank and run the carburetor dry. ECHO Bear Cat engines meet EPA regulations which are less tolerant of stale fuel. The use of a fuel stabilizer is highly recommended. | 42 | 2018-01-03 21:20:12 | Trash Pump - 3 inch - TP3266 | 7 | 2018-01-03 21:20:12 | Trash Pumps |
| 2018-01-04 01:45:21 | What are the types of engine driven pumps in the market today? |

| 2018-01-04 01:45:21 | What causes pump cavitation? | When the inlet pressure of a water pump falls below pump design specifications, tiny vapor bubbles can form in the water around the eye of the impeller. When the water containing these bubbles is forced into a high pressure environment on the other side of the impeller, these bubbles collapse, thereby creating tiny shock waves and points of high temperature. These shock waves can actually corrode the surface of the impeller. To prevent cavitation, always be sure to operate your water pump within its pressure and flow specifications. |

| 2018-01-04 01:45:21 | What happens when an open centrifugal pump is “Dead-headed”? | centrifugal pump is ‘dead-headed’ when it is operated without an open discharge outlet. |
