Atop a hill on Summit Street in the capital city of Hartford, Trinity College is where the liberal arts meet the real world. Since it opened its doors in 1823, Trinity has remained steadfastly committed to providing a liberal arts education that is both relevant and timeless. We aim to prepare students to be bold, independent thinkers who lead transformative lives. Our distinctive curricular offerings -- including an interdisciplinary program in neuroscience, a professionally accredited engineering major, a first-of-its-kind human rights program, and a newly established Center for Caribbean Studies -- engage students in learning inside and outside the classroom, connecting them with communities and cultures in the Hartford region and worldwide. Students take advantage of extensive opportunities for experiential learning, community service, and internships, and about 60 percent of Trinity students study away at some point during their college careers, many of them at one of our nine semester or year-long study away programs in cities around the world: Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, New York, Paris, Port of Spain (Trinidad), Rome, Shanghai, and Vienna. At home in Hartford, our 100-acre campus is a beautiful green oasis in the city, complemented by a new presence at Constitution Plaza downtown, where our Liberal Arts Action Lab will open during the 2017-18 academic year. With 41 academic majors, 29 Division III varsity teams, and more than 100 student clubs and organizations, ours is a campus community that values diversity, integrity, and intellectual vitality, encourages innovation, builds resilience, promotes balance, and instills the joy of lifelong learning. To recruit the most talented and engaged student body from all over the world, Trinity no longer requires standardized test scores and waives application fees for first-generation college students. We take a values-driven approach to admissions, considering qualities -- grit, creativity, curiosity, and more -- that will help students thrive in college and beyond. |

Connecticut College is a selective liberal arts college that educates global citizens who are prepared to make a difference. Located in the historic whaling city of New London, the 750-acre arboretum campus overlooks both the Thames River and Long Island Sound. It is within minutes of a transportation hub providing access to Providence, Boston and New York City. Founded in 1911 as a college for women in a state where higher education was reserved for men, Connecticut College has long supported underrepresented populations and maintains a commitment to environmental stewardship and social justice. Conn became co-ed in 1969. Among Conn College's many unique qualities, perhaps most noteworthy is its innovative curriculum, called Connections. In this visionary approach to the liberal arts, students examine issues from a multitude of angles and draw connections between their experiences inside and outside the classroom. Working with a team of advisers, students build an intentionally integrated study plan, and set a course for their personal and professional lives. Conn's well-established career program is directly connected with the academic experience, and guarantees every student a funded internship before they graduate. A network of accomplished alumni around the globe helps ensure that students' internships are relevant to their studies and career aspirations. One of the hallmarks of Connecticut College is the 94-year-old Honor Code, including self-scheduled exams, which fosters an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect among students, faculty and staff. Through a system of shared governance, students participate in campus decision-making and serve in leadership roles. A member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference, Conn offers students the opportunity to compete both in NCAA Division III team sports and club sports. About 30 percent of students are varsity athletes. There is no Greek system at Connecticut College, but students may choose from nearly 100 clubs and organizations. There is a strong focus on the arts, and the campus boasts seven a cappella groups. More than half of students spend a semester or a year studying abroad. |

The University of Delaware has a great tradition of excellence, from our roots extending back to a small private academy started in 1743, to the research-intensive, technologically advanced institution of today. The University received its charter from the State of Delaware in 1833 and was designated one of the nations historic Land Grant colleges in 1867. Today, UD is a Land Grant, Sea Grant and Space Grant institution. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching classifies UD as a Doctoral University - Highest Research Activity--a designation accorded less than 3 percent of U.S. colleges and universities. UD ranks among the nations top 100 universities in federal R&D support for science and engineering. A state-assisted, privately governed institution, UD offers a broad range of degree programs: three associate programs, 138 bachelors programs, 121 masters programs (with 13 joint degrees offered within) 62 doctoral programs through our seven colleges. Our student body encompasses more than 18,000 undergraduates, more than 3,700 graduate students and more than 700 students in professional and continuing studies from across the country and around the globe. Our distinguished faculty includes internationally known authors, scientists and artists, among them Guggenheim and Fulbright fellows and members of the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In addition to our Georgian-inspired main campus in Newark, Del., UD has locations across the state--in Wilmington, Dover, Georgetown and Lewes. A thriving study-abroad program and expanding international partnerships further enhance our students education as global citizens. In 2015, UD received the Community Engagement Classification from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. In addition, UD was named to the Presidents Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, which recognizes higher education institutions that reflect the values of exemplary community service and achieve meaningful outcomes in their communities. The University of Delaware is also one of five universities and colleges in the naiton to receive NAFSAs 2015 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization, in recognition of excellence in integrating international education across all aspects of the campus. |

More than 125 years after its 1891 founding as a land-grant educational institution, Delaware State University has a long and proud history that has led to its distinction as one of America's top HBCUs. The University's success can be explained by its bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs that connect with high-demand career fields and prepare students for the global marketplace, an ever-expanding research portfolio and a growing international presence. DSU's academic character has a heavy emphasis in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) area. Several major research centers are based on campus, including the Delaware Institute for Science and Technology's Optical Science Center for Applied Research (OSCAR), with its state-of-the-art facility completed in 2015, as well as the Delaware Center for Neuroscience Research. The University's Claude E. Phillips Herbarium, a botanical resource center, is the largest among HBCUs. In the College of Business, students gain knowledge of the latest SAP technologies and critical digital enterprise skills through a partnership with SAP, the market leader in enterprise application software, and the Americas' SAP Users' Group (ASUG). Students in DSU's Aviation Program attain valuable flight experience in the University's own fleet of airplanes, the only one among HBCUs, and 100 percent of our professional pilot graduates go on to aviation industry careers. Freshmen at DSU find a personalized experience right from the start, with an Individual Development Plan (IDP) to not only ensure academic success, but also to encourage professional development. Throughout their journeys, students also benefit from faculty members' years of professional experience and a multitude of hands-on learning opportunities, including agriculture, natural resources and natural sciences facilities and laboratories; art and mass communications studios; the University's own music record label; and internships with leading businesses and agencies. For students interested in studying abroad, collaborative partnerships with institutions in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean create a wide range of options. Delaware State University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Its Department of Social Work offers the only nationally accredited bachelor's and master's degree program in the state of Delaware, and its business, education, nursing, hospitality and tourism, and food and nutritional science programs also are accredited by specialized academic accrediting agencies. DSU's main campus is a close-knit community situated among 350 acres of modern and historic buildings and sprawling green spaces in Dover, DE. The University also offers convenient and flexible master's degree programs at its location in Wilmington, DE, as well as learning opportunities through its location in Georgetown, DE, and its online bachelor's and master's degree programs. Student-athletes at DSU compete in 18 intercollegiate athletics programs at the NCAA Division I level.
